There's no mention of the iPad 2's RAM anywhere today. The bump in power for the GPU sounds nice but I wonder if the estimate in improvement is realistic in terms of practicality.

There was a rumor that it only has 256MB of memory but no official confirmation.

Now I'm kicking around the idea of picking up a refurb iPad 1 at a decent discount and then upgrading to a 3 next year when the updates will likely be more substantial.

Just because phone has feature doesnt mean carriers will support it for free, second constant 3g browsing kills you iphone battery pretty fast and the ipad had much larger battery. And if you have a verizon phone anytime you phone rings you will lose you internet connection.

I've been wanting an iPad and I think I'm going to get one of the new ones. Nice that you will be able to mirror it on your big screen and play Angry Birds on the HDTV in the living room.
I don't really feel the need for the cameras--I would have rather seen a retina display, but I imagine that would have forced the prices up. I can see them adding the retina iPad this fall at a higher price alongside the iPad 2, much like the iPod touch/classic/nano/shuffle options.
