Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

Batmobile... iPad... Batmobile... iPad... Batmobile... iPad...

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

I have the wifi version. If I really wanted to go mobile I would rather pay for the tethering. Actually I would look up the cost for that. It's probably cheaper for a while when comparing it to the upgraded cost. Not sure. If you travel a ton 3G is probably worth it. I don't go anywhere. :rotfl

Yeah, me either so that's why I was thinking just wifi.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

Wifi is a great bargain! That's what I got the wife the first time around. Only negative is there's no GPS, if that matters to you.

I ended up with a 4G for myself and a wifi for the wife.
Looking forward to finally having one of these that I can call my own!

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

I've got a garmin and my phone I can use the gps on. So that's not a big deal.

I guess I'm gonna get the 32gb wifi version.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

I can't believe they kept the storage capacity the same as the previous generation. Anybody getting a 16GB is gonna get screwed with all these hi-rez graphics.

Now that I think of it, that applies to iPad 2 owners too. It's one app for every iPad, so soon, every app will update, bloating the size, and people will be finding themselves out of room very quickly.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

Good choice!

Yeah, Its the best of all the wifi options for me. Enough memory I'll be ok and a price that isn't killer. I did get the white version just to be different and probably will do so with the IPhone 5 when it comes out.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

Retina display will look nice.

4G doesn't matter, because I'd get a wifi model.

Voice dictation seems like a temporary solution until they integrate Siri in the next model.

Better quality camera is fine, but I'm not going to wave around a big old iPad to shoot photos/video.

Several of the selling points don't really convince me to upgrade. If these things were in a new iPhone, it would make more sense. But considering the way I use my iPad alongside my iPhone, the only real draw here is the increased resolution.

Agree. Little bummed out by the ipad3. Didn't really bring too much new stuff to the table.

I got the white 4s to be different. I like the look but I prefer a black background when watching videos and viewing pics. So I ordered black.

I could see where that would be an issue. I guess I'll find out next week. :lol Will impact what I do with the iPhone 5.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

Ive been looking to get an Ipad for awhile, but the lack of new features makes the 3 not really worth it for me. Therefore im not looking at this as a hardware upgrade for an Ipad, but rather an opportunity for a price upgrade on the Ipad 2.

If you don't have an iPad I would def recommend the iPad 3. If you have an iPad 2 it's not a must buy IMO. The screen on the iPad 2 is very good. It won't be nearly as good as the iPad3 but it IMO it won't be something you have to have if you have an ipad2. I might get the 32 gig if I do end up getting one. I can give the wife the ipad2. I do watch quite a bit of movies on the iPad. The only real good news out of this announcement is they are testing the 4G to get it ready for the next iPhone.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

Lack of new features in the 3? :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

They only added quad core processor and the most brilliant looking display ever created at the consumer level, I could see how that would be disappointing... :slap

I mean, I get not wanting to upgrade, but calling this disappointing is akin to calling the 4S disappointing because it wasn't in a new case and didn't have a 5 printed on it.

If anything is disappointing, it's the 16 GB entry level capacity. Nobody is going to be able to survive on that and be able to use the new photo and video apps or even store many apps that take advantage of the new retina display.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

The retina screen sure is nice, but my iPad 1 is more than adequate for me cuz I use it as an eBooks reader 90% of the time.

The only reason I might want to get a more powerful version is if I ever need to start using the iPad as a laptop replacement for "on the go" word editing/pdf annotation where I may need to switch between apps regularly.

iPad 1 is a little sluggish with the multitask gesturing.

This is the 2nd time I've seen you post this. I've been using the 16gb ipad2 and have never come close to having any problems with it. Could you explain a little bit more what you mean?

Anywho. Just got shipping notification. That's some super slow ass shipping if it's not going to hit my house until next Friday.
