Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I plan on it! At least there's some time inbetween them to stretch your legs!

I'm gonna try for sure. I wonder how quickly they will sell out? I remember what it was like during trilogy tuesday. So if I can't do it Saturday ill have to skip it.

I went to those and they didn't sell out and it was in a bigger city. There was a nice crowd, but I'd say it was 3/4 full.

This will be in a smaller city and I don't look for it to sell out, but I'm going to act like it will. I might have to go by myself though. :(

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I never said I didn't want them made because they wouldn't be as nice as the statues from Sideshow or Weta. There are lots of products out there not quiet at that level and that doesn't stop me from getting them. I also never said I wouldn't buy them. What I did say is I'd prefer HT just keep doing what they've been doing skipping Middle-earth letting the overall craziness that is their fan base staying away from that world. Yes, what they make is very nice and would look nice on the shelf, but the nonsense you have to read through is not worth the trouble IMO. :lol

You don't have to read through the threads. :dunno

Well, the one in Missouri is here in KC but I don't think it's a big theatre. I kind of expect it will just because The Hobbit should generate buzz for bandwagon folks.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Crazy would be wanting to bring the OCD crazies into collecting something that is nice and peaceful. That madness is better suited for Marvel and Star Wars. Let Sideshow and Weta take care of Middle-earth and do it right as they have for over a decade. Besides the source material just fits better as statues or PF's anyways.

With "The Hobbit" case, yes.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

im about 150 pages into the hobbit for about the 8th time in my life. im not sure how they are going to squeeze 3 full length movies out of this.

They're also adding information from the appendices at the end of ROTK. There is plenty of info there to make three fantastic movies.

i figured they would be borrowing from sources other then the hobbit itself. im not doubting they will be fantastic at all. just a bit concerned the third act will be only 90 minutes. i guess i have been spoiled by the even longer extended editions.

*crosses fingers jackson somehow films tons of additional footage for extended cuts

I don't think you will have to worry about any of that.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I got a chance to see The Hobbit trailer in 3D today. Oh my! :drool

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

On the 7th when tickets are for sale what time do they start to sell em for the midnight show?....I never bought advanced movie tickets before...

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Cinemark shows 11 am est. AMC doesn't show anything on their site but I'd imagine around the same time of day.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Will there be different times according to the theaters even on Fandango?

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Has anyone found where they are showing the high frame speed?

I would assume they all go on sale at the same time. I'm not worried about tickets for the hobbit but that trilogy showing could be an issue.
