Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Nooooo terrible news!

I was always going to watch The Hobbit in both in 2D and 3D but wanted that 2D viewing also at 48fps. I expected this to happen though so not overly upset ;)

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Are there any give aways with the midnight showing like shirts or those glasses we saw not to long ago? and do you recomend buying by going to the box office or online...I will have time to do either

Sometimes yes and sometimes no. It all depends on the theatre also if TORn is having a line party there may be a giveaway or two.

TV Spot #3

Also if you check out TORn we've linked to where you can listen to the track for Radagast.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Just read the first chapter of The Hobbit last night. Loved it. Haven't been this enthralled in a book in a while. Especially after only one chapter.

I can't wait to see Gandalf, the dwarves and Bilbo late at night sitting at the table in his house hazed with smoke from their pipes, drinking lots of ale, and telling adventurous tales of thieving dragons. :monkey2

I would gladly sit through three movies of just that.

So far I haven't found a thing. There are special 3D glasses but that's it.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

A plethroa of Hobbit goodies arrived at work today, so I picked up a copy of Brian Sibley's Official Movie Guide. Lots of cool little tidbits. It would appear the Great Goblin gets to sing!

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

For some reason, on cinemark's site, they aren't showing my local theater for the midnight showing of The Hobbit, but they are showing it for the trilogy showings.

And on Fandango, I can't even find a link period!

:(

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

My local Tinseltown is getting something called Cinemark XD? Have any of you seen any films in this format, is it any good? I thought we'd be lucky to have it done by Man of Steel, but they said it would actually be finished this weekend, and that James Bond would be the first film, but I'd assume that it'll be all set for The Hobbit, and the LoTR Trilogy...

Fresno tickets aren't up yet. So I guess I'll keep waiting.

Regal has six options: 2D, 3D, HFR 3D, IMAX 2D, IMAX 3D, IMAX HFR 3D. Wow.

Mine is showing no midnight showings for any theater closer than 50 miles from me. I won't go that far that late at night by myself. :(
