Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I wonder whats up with that light up sting. (is it like master replicas? probably) Kinda want a real Sting, although the light up one would be cool if sharp.

I managed to get one from Master Replicas when they clearanced them out for $35. Very nice, weight feels like a real sword, light up action very cool, but definitely not sharp. Still have it, my 4 year old loves to play with it.

EDIT- From what I can see on the site, it looks very much like the MR one, except the MR Sting had switch activated light up feature, which by the way, also allowed for sound FX with or without illumination. This one says that it light's up by a twist action.

JOSH!!!!!!

That White Council Scene is awesome!!!
It's like Gandalf knows something is going to happen, but the others are too deluded to believe him.Sigh.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Yeah, that was pretty cool. It does come across that the rest of them might be willing to rest of their laurels (except galadriel).

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

It is going to be a long freakin' week. But I am going to wait until the second or third night to see the movie and my first viewing will be with my children.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Just bought another 3 tickets for the matinee on the 15th for me and my kids. :yess:

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Midnight for 24fps
3pm that Saturday for my 48 fps.

I'm doing both days on IMAX. I like that you can reserve the seats ahead of time so I don't have to wait in line. :banana

If I do a 3rd showing, I'll probably do it in 24 fps.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I've got 3D 24 fps tix for opening night. Would prefer 2D but they only had 3D in the 21+ theater where I can have a beer and savor Hobbiton in a recliner. :) :duff

Might check out the 48 out of curiosity but from most reactions I don't think it sounds like it's worth the trouble.

The IMAX where I'm going is the 48 FPS. I am interested in seeing it in this mode but if I don't like the mode I don't want it to mess with the story aspect. So I want to concentrate on it and enjoy being in Middle-earth again for the first time seeing this movie. So I'll go see it the 48 FPS in my second viewing and be able to concentrate on that.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

got tix with assigned seating to Gold Class here in OZ.
They are 2 people seats,3 rows of 10.so only 30 people spaced out in a big cinema.Reclining chairs, orderable alcohol and food picked for what time you want them to bring it to you.
3d 24 fps...on Boxing Day(opening Day) here in OZ.

Will see it at the other local cinema in the 48 fps a cple days later after the sales rush dies down.
Am really looking forward to this!!!

 And if I don't sneak something into the marathon tomorrow, I'll have to settle for popcorn all day long since they don't serve any food.

I'm jealous! :lol

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

They have a new theater opening near my place with some of the biggest screen in California (supposedly, I ain't vouching for the validity of that claim)...but "The Hobbit" is going to be the first movie to play in that theater.

They are advertising that they have assigned seating. When you buy a ticket...it is for a specific seat and that is where you go.

I think I will take my kids there.
