Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

:yess::yess::yess::yess::yess::yess::yess::yess::yess::yess::yess:Was that Radagast taking on a Wright or Ringwraith/Witch-king in true form at Dol Guldur at the 15 second mark...oh baby!..OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY!

Yeah, I saw that in the trailer and I was glad to finally see Azog. He looks pretty darn cool and what I had imagined. I believe it was which should make for a cool sequence.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

These early reviews have me with lowered expectations. I expected the same quality of special effects with a simpler/lighter story. Or worst case, better special effects with a drawn out convoluted story stuffed with things to drag this out into three films.... But I didn't expect the special effects to a problem.

And yes, I'd rather they had the same level of special effects rather than advancing them. I want these movies to all fit side-by-side. A problem between the OT and PT is the overabundance of CGI. I hope the ST strikes a happy median between practical effects and CGI.

They're not a constant problem. Don't worry about that. And again there are a couple jaw-dropping fx sequences. There are just a few moments where you also go, "What? Did they really think that looked good enough?"

Focus on the story and put yourself in the fantasy..forget about the rest

Very cool! - Thanks for posting that. :duff

Lots of great stuff, you actually get to see some dwarf women.

No problem. All this stuff has me pretty excited and from what I've read from those I trust with knowledge of the subject material we're in for a damn good ride.

You've got that right. The appendicies are some of my favorite reading and I can't wait to see The White Council and Dol Guldur on the big screen! :rock

I was hoping PJ would show Bullroarer knocking off Golfimbul's head as part of the history of golf. :lol

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Nice clip! I wonder if we will get a tease of smaug at the end of this film? If not it's probably just a final shot of the lonely mountain itself.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Yes, I believe there will be a tease of him attacking Erebor in the movie.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Loved that clip! Galadriel is beautiful. Seeing Christopher Lee in action is always great, too.
