Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread *SPOILERS*

They have enough people up in arms about a bunny sled, can you imagine having talking animals and what some will say, despite it being in the books?

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread *SPOILERS*

Yeah, some would crap a brick. I've never minded the eagles not physically speaking. I don't expect the spiders to talk either and at most they will hiss which will have subtitles.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread *SPOILERS*

Trolls talk now. Trees talk. The Ring talks. Mother ****ing STONE MOUNTAINS fight each other and punch the **** out of one another now.

Weird **** goes on in Middle Earth, especially now in the Hobbit, it's not as laid back and "real" as it was in LOTR. I don't think the believability would die if you had one Eagle saying a bit of lines.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread *SPOILERS*

Saw the film in 24fps and I think cinematically it's what everyone expected to see...
BUT, after watching it the first time on 48fps, I think I still prefer that version... The detail and immersion is amazing, love the movie and cannot wait to see it again!! :rock!

It wouldn't bother me, but if you read what some people are *****ing about on message boards, believe me, their heads would explode! :lol

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread *SPOILERS*

So I guess as soon as the scaly fire breathing bird opens his mouth there are going to be a lot of headless theater goers. :lol

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread *SPOILERS*

The movie itself is just wonderful. I think the most perfect moment of the movie and one of the best of *all* LOTR films is Bilbo sparing Gollum. The cinematography of the close-ups, Gollum and Martin Freeman's expressions, the music. What a pivotal, pivotal moment to knock out of the park. It was very touching and emotional.

Azog the Defiler is a fantastically cinematic bad guy. Too bad HT doesn't have this license. After seeing their Chitauri WIP's I'd love to see what they could do with Azog.

Frodoeyes pointed this out a while back. I've just glanced at it but it looks pretty cool. Ill link the Wikipedia page since the set on amazon is a bit high.

The History of The Hobbit

I have this. Great read but can be rather boring unless you're really into it, sort of like History of ME.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread *SPOILERS*

Yeah, just looking at it this seems like a play by play and why things were done or almost redone. I think book two light he good for those that want to see what Tolkien almost did with The Hobbit.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread *SPOILERS*

The Hobbit was only down 13.5% this weekend compared to last weekend! This just may go the distance after all. Nice job at holding off both Django and Les Mis.

$221,743,000 Domestic
$685,743,000 Worldwide in 17 days.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread *SPOILERS*

I wonder how "There and Back Again" will do. Now that's slated for the summer right, the summer after Smaug (which is in December)?

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread *SPOILERS*

Yeah, it's the summer after but I think it will be moved. Summer 14 will have plenty if comic book movies I'm sure.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread *SPOILERS*

I watched Hobbit last week and enjoyed it. The one think that bugged me was how Bilbo found the ring. Completely different from the beginning of LOTR. It left me with a WTF feeling knowing the director is the same for both pictures.

In the LotR, Galadriel was telling the story at the beginning, so that was her interpretation of it. In The Hobbit, it was Bilbo's.

That's how I like to look at it anyway. :lol

I said over 2 weeks ago 600 million at least worldwide in 2012 alone...It's now at 700 million for 2012...This will make a billion worldwide easily...Middle-Earth/LOTR is well loved around the world
