Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread *SPOILERS*

Josh to me that's like saying I looked thru the door at Erebor and saw Smaug, I aint going in there...For myself anyway that represents a little bit of a too dangerous situation...I will just take it as the wisdom of Dain versus his eyesight...That scene showed Dain had wisdom, leadership qualities as well as guts....Not many Dwarves have all of those qualities and basically as a dwarf teenager it was amazing...Dain for me was always my favorite dwarf

Yeah, Dain is pretty cool be what we know. I am looking forward to seeing him in these movies and getting a statue of him. I'm also curious to see these war boars he and this dwarves are supposed to ride.

Legless Crabrash.

If only it were Pantless Crabrash, it would be 100% accurate.

My take on the size of Azog. Yes, he's supposed to be huge and to me he looks like about the size of an Uruk-hai. Even if he's bigger, what's the big deal? He's an exception to the rule not the norm. Just like the tallest person in the world is 8'11". That doesn't mean all humans are that size. I had more of a beef with the Great Goblin. He's stands above the other Goblins sure, but he's the size of a Troll.

...Look at that, he's huge! Not just around his fellow orcs, but look at his fist in comparison to Thror's head. It's larger than his head!...
...Remember Gimli at Amon Hen and Helms Deep and his size/scale relationship to them? I can tell you right now that their fists weren't larger than his head.

I think the problem is that the continuity isn't there. In the picture you posted, he does look huge, but in the follow up video you can see that he's not really that big in those scenes. Same with the picture of Gimli sitting on the Uruk-hai. Gimli is way too big in that scene because he's John Rhys Davies size not Gimli size and they didn't adjust the size of the Uruk-hai he's sitting on to take that into account.

I don't think so as Uruk-Hai were shown to be made by Saruman, but there are also some different looking uruks at Cirith Ungol, Gorbag (or is it Shagrat....) being one of them.

I don't think so, In Two Towers Legolas refers to the Uruk-hai as Uruks. Ugluk refers to the Mordor Orcs as Orcs. Aragorn asks Eomer about the Uruk-hai they are tracking and Eomer calls them Uruks. So in the moveis I'm pretty sure that Uruks and Uruk-hai are the same.
