Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

But thats the whole point of this debate Josh as it wont be those idiots that end up suffering its way bigger than that. It will cost their economy 1.5 billion and for a small country like NZ thats a considerable amount as well as the knock on effect the damage will do to the country in terms of any future film development.

Anyway thats all i'm going to say on the matter as this is going to be an enjoyable time and in the end we all want the same thing and that is............for PJ to knock it out of the park.:yess:

Why doesn't the greater part of NZ tell these egotists to ____ off back to Oz so the film can get made? :huh

Red-Thats what I'm saying see Nam above. The people that want to see it made need to step up and say wait a minute you arse clowns are gonna cost us a truckload. At somepoint someone has to have the balls to step up and do something that they believe in.

Though I agree with you in that this is gonna be amazing and I want PJ to just knock this ____ out of this.

Who says they're not?

Last night up to 1500 film technicians marched in Wellington over fears that the US$500 million film will be lost to another country.

Wow, that was awesome. I want the new films made in the true Middle Earth, New Zealand.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

A meeting between Warner Brothers and senior government ministers has ended inconclusively, with studio executives asking for larger incentives to keep The Hobbit movies in NZ. Read more .

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

im sure NZ will come to the party!!
seeing some of the sets that have been built looks amazing!!
Such a waste of time if they have to pack everything up just to ship it to another location!!
Hopefully find out today or tomorrow whether it stays or not.
Andy Serkis is still on for Gollum too!!!
WOOT WOOT

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

This could easily be replicated in Scotland IMO but I do hope it stays in NZ since they gave so much to the spirit of the original trilogy.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Don't quite understand why the rest of the dwarves roles haven't been filled yet? I mean, are these the lesser dwarves? And what's up with the casting for Beorn???

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Is it true about the second movie being an infill movie?

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

No. I believe that idea was nixed a while ago. The Hobbit will be split in half with the Necromancer of Dol Goldur and the White Council as counterpoint to that.

(although maybe their will be a short bit to fill in the space between the hobbit and LOTR)
