Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Also, former Doctor Who David Tennant is possibly playing Thranduil, while Orlando Bloom wants to be paid a million bucks for his two minute cameo scene.

Well, the poor guy has a wife to feed now! :rolleyes2

I would just tell him his role isn't that important for that much. I really can't stand overpaid babies like that.

True that. :exactly:

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Bloom really hasn't been in much since POTC, this two minutes may rejuvenate his career. :D

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

^ ROFL!!!
Great to see confo of Chris Lee signing!!
Orlando has the balls to ask for that much money!!
i almost threw up a little in my mouth,no actor is worth that much to do a cameo UNLESS it is Lee,McKellen,Wood,Serkis.

I now wonder if Viggo rumours will start appearing.Even though he is not mentioned in the book.
If ever there was a time for the EE LOTD Blu Ray to be released, this or next year WOULD have to be the time!
David Tennant as Thranduil would be a good choice!

Bravo Peter Jackson...Amazing how quicly one sour month with the Union stuff in December and NEARLY the loss of production to overseas has now turned into an amazing last couple of days full of some awesome actors signing on!

Seriously though congrats to the new parents on the birth of their little elfling.:)

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I wonder how they will portray the Necromancer/Sauron? That's if he's even in it, which if they are trying to bridge the gap, might seem likely. Probably a CGI shadow or something like that?

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Well, I think when the white council meets they deal with Sauron so I think they'll show that. Sauron could not take physical form though so I'm not sure how they'll deal with it.

I guess they will also have to cast Alatar and Pallando the Blue Wizards for the White Council, as it's been acknowldged in the movies (ROTK EE) there are five Wizards

The blue wizards had stewardship over lands to the east, far from Middle Earth, and were not a part of the White Council. So I doubt there will be any need for them to be cast.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Good news overall!!!
I'm currently watching the whole Extended LOTR trilogy, such an epic cinematic experience!!!
I'm happy about so many actors coming back to reprise their roles... I am still worried about Lee though, he has definitely aged a lot in the past 10 years...

Did this recently in one sitting, with a dinner break, and with a totally new viewer as well. She loved it. All in all, we started around 11 AM and finished up around 1 AM. Good times.

I did that a few months back. Sadly I had a headache all day, so that detracted from the experience. :(

I said 'once is enough', but I'm starting to think that I'll be ready to try it again when the EE BD's comes out. :)

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Me too! :D I'm crazy like that, like the time I drove from Vegas to L.A. to watch the Final Cut of Blade Runner.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I have made it a Christmas tradition to watch the Extended Editions. I remember Christmas was much more exciting when I was waiting for the films to come out at the Cinema

I watch the EE LOTR annually in one sitting. I've been doing that since the release of the RoTK. Great experience every time. :D
