Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I'm sure that's just a 'job description' to get the actress into her role as the character, add a bit of background and story. I'm sure we won't actually SEE her meet and fall in love with this elf-lord, it's just for character building to give the actress something to work with.

I'll bet you a million dollars that you're wrong. :)

I don't know if this is so much for the tweens than for women in general. Filmakers tend to believe women won't watch a movie unless there's romance in it.

I'm betting whoever plays her part will be well out of her teens.

Did she actually get the part? I thought I read where she's got a part in Snow White or something.

Edit: Nope, she doesn't have it yet, it's only rumored. She has two other movies that she might do, including yet another Snow White movie. There's 3 in the works.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

This is the same sort of lead-up we had when the character of Lurtz was announced and everyone went nuts.
Sit back. Chill.
Pete likes to establish "face" characters to represent the different groups, i.e. Lurtz, Gothmog, Haldir, etc.
Itaril will probably be one of those "face" characters.

I have no problem with the "face" characters. It's just that the additional story for this ITARIL is a bit of an eye-roller. :peace

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Iam Mac's blog has some interesting stuff about the changes in his costume in comparison with his LOTR. Silver scarf and black boots... I would get a new 1:6 Gandalf if his costume had variations that were noticeable. :D

It was my understanding that Bloom was a lock to appear as Legolas. The last info was that he was "in talks". Can't help but wonder if they handed the man a script, he reads that he's supposed to have a love interest and the actress up for that role is a teenager. Out 'da door in a flash!
