Maybe they got a new king or a new ruler that changed things.

Maybe their dna enhancements are a result of a change in hierarchy....

Maybe they had a civil war and the dna changes were created to win against the other preds

I don't see anything that hints at any kind of honor code in the first 2 movies, in fact it contradicts how vicious and how dirty the Predator's tactics are, and in P2, the Predator was willing to escape after all, had Harrigan not caught up with him, that's even a cowards move, that's probably the biggest indicator that they have no such honor code.

An honorable warrior doesn't toy with his prey, doesn't mock his enemy, doesn't desecrate the bodies of his enemies, such a juvenile concept imo, it's very detrimental to the creature, you put the creature in a box and it restraints its capacity for amoral savagery.

And it all hinges on the pistol toss, which was the bare minimum respect Harrigan could gain from them after everything he went through, they didn't even wait for him to get off the ship, and the Predator in P1 had no qualms about nuking Dutch after he beat him.

Sorry, I read that you like the comics, but I quite hate them and the comics are big on that honor code stuff.

I don’t think “honor” is the right word , but I get where that comes from...

These guys are thrill seeking hunters, period. They hunt prey for trophies, and the challenge of the hunt. The entire point of both p1 and p2 was they found prey on earth that was fighting back effectively.
In P1 there is no doubt the Predator went after Dutch as a challenge, then after Dutch proved to be a worthy contender, he respected him, and wanted to beat him without the tech, because he wanted to prove he could....he lost....

But he wasn’t going to be bested by his “prey” he was gonna take him out using the tech again....in the end he did what he had to to win. That’s a definite personality , as an sentient being would have.

In P2 you have the same setup....except at some point the Predator became a chicken **** and ran. Also , I think he knew Harrigan was not going to stop, and they definitely didn’t want to be discovered.

The end reinforced the idea of the respect part. The elder Pred and his boys could have wiped Harrigan off the map. The pistol was a sign of respect for winning the hunt. But he chucks it at him, and then takes off, not really caring if he survives or not.

I believe it’s stated the reason the Pred2 lost was he was a younger Pred, on his first hunt, and was in experienced.

There's no point in remaking the first film....just watch the first movie then. Besides, what makes Predator 1 work, besides the awesome alien, is Arnie in his prime, and the rest of the awesome cast.

Unless you put the Rock, Thor Guy or an equally cool cast of legit badass actors, it's not going to work.

Who the hell said we even want sequels?

I would of liked to see Dutch's return, but even alimony seeking take any script Arnie passed on it. Which is for the best anyway since he's nothing but an imitation of the imitation people do of him for the last 20 years.
