That can lead into its sequel, where they make an island park full of Predator varieties for tourists... except they get loose and hunt down the attendees. At least it’d be set in the right kind of environment and not be super dark :lol

If that happens they better not have two boring kid actors like JW be the focus..this happens, see ya later Predator franchise :slap

"Do you remember the first time you saw a Predator?"

Why didn’t Shane make a Pred flick that takes place shortly after the original or Pred 2 where they go back to the jungle and discover the remnants of the jungle Pred and encounter another Predator etc.

Don’t be ashamed to bring back an old plot line ..it’s 2018, and they are still making freakin WW2 movies for gods sake :lecture

Brock Lesnar should come in and try F5 that Strowman Pred through a table. :rotfl

Damn where is Plissken? I want to see his reaction to all this. :lol

Don't even bother trying to make it look "evolved." No bigger mandibles. Maybe a different shaped head. Hell, give it natural Wolverine wrist blades. Oh no, just make it look like the Space Jam Monstar version of a Predator.

I don't know why I'm disappointed when I expected a mess, but it's worse than I feared.

I never was planning to see this film in the theater anyway..wait until it hits blu ray or rent it on digital :lol

:exactly: :lol

Predator was yet another film that just needed to be left alone. I mean, I actually like Predator 2, I think it was a worthy enough sequel that I'm glad exists but...I dunno...everything since has been fan fiction to me. They have simply lost the plot and/or are writing this creature in a direction that never needed to be seen and can never hope to match the original or even the second film.

Sad thing is, doesn't seem to be at least fun bad, it's just sad bad.

This is what we will continue to get if you want to "expand" on the creature itself instead of focusing creativity on the story and the human characters.

But it's not surprise to me, after watching a ton of "the making of" documentaries of Predator this week, one realizes that Shane Black isn't really very smart or charismatic, you hear McTiernan speak in interviews about Predator, and he's well spoken, smart, funny and a quick witted individual, who can condense complex directorial techniques into succinct, digestible bits for the audience he's speaking to in those interviews.

And when the interview moves on to Shane Black, he's just a dude bro.

I mean think about it, even the Predator design came from McTiernan, that movie was a success because of McTiernan alone, he brought everything into that movie, and Predator 2 is not a disaster sequel because it copied McTiernan's core from Predator.

Everybody else, including the large majority of the fanbase, got Predator wrong from that point forward.

Black really comes off as a chest hair exposing smug poser in the making of.

This film is just AVPR, again.

Predator is the Jaws of Sci Fi.

Damn straight it is.

Yeah, except he doesn't have the guns and the charisma the other guys have to pull it off.

And to Predator's credit, it's a scarier film. To me anyway. In Jaws it's in the title it's a shark. You don't get confirmation of what the Predator is (bar the intro and teasing Dillon for a moment) until here VVV. But even taking that out of the equation, the tension and dread is flawless. It's undeniable. After Hawkins and Blane get killed, there's such a feeling of vulnerability. You truly feel Death can come at anytime.IMG_3943.JPG

It's a fantastic film. I've watched it twice since NECA announced Hawkins - I still give it a 10/10. The only criticism I've seen is for the editing of the attack on the guerilla camp and that blurry shot of Dutch dropping off the waterfall - and maybe for certain things being 'dated' - 'dated' is relative so I give it no credence here, the other stuff....meh. 10/10

The tension, the characters, the music, the creature design - ''oh my'', it's all just unbeatable.

I take the guerrilla shot for what it is, that's the only thing in the movie with flaws in it.

The "dated" aspect of some others has aged fantastically in my opinion, it gives it a pulpy feel and look that only enriches the movie, of course that wasn't intentional but it adds to it over time.
