Jye I just watched the edited Geonosis arena again and noticed he cut out the line about Padme being "on top of things" and changed it so that she climbs to the top of the post a split second before that alien creature jumps onto it. Unreal how easy it was for him to make the scene so much more intense.

To get things back on track, [Director] Shane Black just offered up some words on The Predator:

Shane Black said:
Right now we’re looking at probably beginning to mid February. I’m heading up to Vancouver in a week or two to go into a serious pre-production, so we’re on the cusp.

I think the PREDATOR movies have slightly veered from typical sci-fi in that there is a sort of thriller aspect to them. I think it should be scary, I think it should be funny, and I think ultimately it should be wondrous and about perceiving things that human beings very seldom get a chance to see… I don’t mean movie audiences I mean characters in the movie. I’m not saying the movie will be nothing anyone’s seen before (laughs).

I think it’ll be interesting to get a group of credible guys—the hallmark of the first one is you have guys together that are kinda funny and self-referential and also very tough. I don’t know that we’re going to deviate over much from that, but there are at least a couple of factors that we’ve deliberately chosen to make it not just that group of buff, tough guys.

FOX has been very cooperative. I mean part of it is the success they had with Deadpool, but I also made a case—and I think they agreed—that fans of the Predator generally, probably aren’t looking to go to see a PG-13-rated version of it. It would be more of a letdown if it was sort of tailored to a family friendly audience than if it were allowed to play out to the same scale and level that the first R-rated one did.”

Glad to hear he's committed to the 'R' rating and that he's not looking for bodybuilders.

Thank goodness it will be R-rated too.
But people will still complain that it was not family friendly and that the executions were torture porn. :monkey3

Yea, I got past Jesse The Body Ventura being turned into a donut but when the predator ripped out a spine, I had to turn if off.

There's talk of the new Saw movie being family friendly. Parents were shocked to see that the an R rated movie series with the key subject being torture was unsuitable for their kids when they let them watch it on TV.

I hope the Predator in this movie becomes best friends with the new group and they hang out together.

With his big black d***?

Yup that is nuts how the raw material was there for Lucas to do the same.

I'll keep saying it, 2017 is gonna be a great year for mature content with so many studio movies returning to the 'R' style.

-Logan (March 3)
-Ghost in The Shell (March 31)
-Valerian (July 21)
-Alien: Covenant (August 4)
-Blade Runner 2049 (October 6)
-Deathnote (November)

and then The Predator in February of '18.

Hopefully the trend doesn't end there and the studios' obsession with making everything family friendly ends finally.

Death Note is going to be a dumpster fire.

Bring it!
I'm looking forward to all of those too.

Does anyone know of this spoof fan made video which was a parody of Predator with carboard weapons? I saw it once during the pre-movie entertainment at Alamo Drafthouse when I went to see Predators, never located it since...was pretty funny, even made fun of the bongos!

So Olivia Munn has joined the cast as a scientist and we have confirmation that Holbrook's character is a special forces soldier.

Also, the film will indeed be a sequel and will be set in suburbia.

I could care less if she's playing the Secretary of Defense. Just look at her.
