This piece is pretty ridiculous...in a good way. I think someone should test him though cuz he has to be juicing:lol

Shai,
I know your a Hulk lover, (so am I) but I was never fond of the PF. First off, don't like clothes on my statues. Also, that docile face just kills me. When I think of the Hulk, it's the madder he gets the stronger he gets. He should always be F'n pissed off! The Olivetti Hulk should be able to top the PF. You know since it's based off Olivetti artwork it will be HUGE. So, scale should not be a problem. You also know it will look great since the artist:rock. All that would have to happen to make this better than the PF would be to give us a furious Hulk and it should be the best Hulk statue that SS ever makes. That's my train of thought on the subject.:D

I agree that if there is One statue that has the potential of dethroning the Hulk PF as the greatest statue ever created, its the Sideshow Hulk maquette inspired by Olivetti's work...Time will tell..Since Then, For me, Hulk PF is still King.

they should do an O.Hulk so large it eclipses Abom and costs a disgusting amount of $$$$.... :monkey1

So you would rather see Indiana Jones in maquette form than in PF?

Sorry gents, I have to disagree with both of you on some counts.

Agree, no doubt that an Olivetti Hulk would be spectacular. Thing is, is that it simply was not the first best hulk from SS, one sculpted by Andy. Even if one with a better sculpt comes along, the PF Hulk by SS has placed itself in history. The Olivetti one, which I am hoping will be great, will compliment the PF.

As a result the SS PF Hulk is iconic and historic. The SS PF Hulk has left a footprint cast in stone, and will simply always be THE one to have.

Your opinion......I don't share it. For me there is no legacy when it comes to PF statues. Comiquettes are the ONLY way to go for me. In every case when a PF and comiquette of the same characters are released, the comiquette is better than the PF IMHO. I expect the same for the Olivetti Hulk.

I'm not a Indy fan so you are talking to the wrong guy. I ONLY collect marvel statues. But, to answer your question: YES! Comiquettes are always superior to PF dolls seven day of the week and twice on Sundays. Gifted painters can make stone look like ANYTHING. That includes leather, cloth, jeans, spandex, metal, or any other thing that someone would wear. That is what makes painters and sculpters artists. Leave the tailored clothes for Ken and Barbie dolls.

Can opinions be wrong?

Seriously though, the last part of your statement is the key and the reason why more times than not it doesn't work. You're not dealing with gifted painters. We get assembly line paint jobs.

Sorry but Blackbeard (the only PF I own) would look like crap as a fully sclupted comiquette.

No ...opinions can't be wrong. It reminds me of that saying: "opinions are like a-holes, everyones got one.":D It's my opinion that SS has excellent painters. My modern Ghost Rider comiquette leather jacket and pants look exactly like that.....leather. My Iron Man comiquette looks exactly like metal.....yet, it's polystone. In fact, please let me know which marvel comiquette paint job is so poor that the costume looks bad. I own all the AH! X-Ladies and their costumes look great. I also own the Iron Man, Wolverine, and Ghost Rider comiquettes. Paint job is incredible on all of them. The only Dio that I own is the Green Scar vs. Silver Savage. The shield, mace, leather clothing and shoes all look great because of the paint job on them.

In general, I guess I disagree with you. The fact that I like EVERY comiquette over the PF of the same character is all I need to say I'm not a PF fan.

Of course..... this is just my opinion.

Again, I only collect marvel statues, so I will take your word for it. But.....I wouldn't mind a Braveheart PF. However, I would still prefer it as a comiquette.

I get what you're saying. I'm just giving you a hard time becuase you sound so matter of fact about it. In my opinion it just doesn't make much sense to sculpt the pants to look like real pants, have a top notch paint job to look like real pants vs. just having real pants. I like both and will get whatever looks good.

Comiquette or PF
As long as it's marvel related
I'll buy them all

So long as a character is made in both formats, I can't complain. It does frustrates me to no end:banghead that I'm still waiting for a classic Spidey, Hulk, Thor and Cap comiquette to be released from SS. Oh well, if they turn out as good as the Olivetti Punisher then they will be worth the wait.:D

I don't mean to come off as rude. I do own the Mystique PF and will not part with it. It just looks so damn SEXY. In this case, the PF looked so good I couldn't help myself and just broke down and bought her. I just ordered the Punisher comiquette. Before that comes in though, I will be looking to sell my PF. Mystique is the only PF I plan on owning. That being said, when the Sabretooth PF is released I might be in some serious trouble.

I do believe everyone has a preference. Some do like both. I almost always prefer comiquettes.

huh?

I think sculpted clothes look more realistic and get the job done better than actual cloth on a statue. More often times than not, the cloth doesn't lay properly or look right because of the weight and thickness vs the actual scale that it is in.
