Do you like the look of spandex? That is the kiss of death for me as a collector. Nothing looks worse than the use of spandex on a sculpt. It just seems to cheapen a statue. It gives off that Adam West in a Batman costume feel to me.

For example, Would you like the soon to be released Thanos statue to be a PF with blue spandex for his costume? I honestly think I would hurl after seeing something like that.

:lecture.....Thank you! I couldn't have said it better myself. A certain individual in this forum is dying for a Dark Phoenix PF to be made but just the thought of it IMO is beyond vomitrocious!

I dont see how you can use 1:1 scale as a comparison when the whole point was that cloth or hair doesnt look right when in a smaller scale. if it's lifesize, it's just going to be like adding hair to a wig, or a shirt to a person, of course it will look fine.

Ass sammich? hardly....even if those are recasts, the sculpted cloth parts make the statues look way better. to each his own.

I guess it made as much sense to me as going from 1/4 scale to pint size for comparison.:huh

Meh I disagree, it all depends on the character and I will go back to my example of Indy even though you aren't a fan. Indy have a sculpted bag and gun holster would be major caca at that scale.

That is your opinion and I respect it even though I disagree with you. My stance is the same: comiquettes>PF all day, everytime, and in every way. I would choose any sculpt as a comiquette over a PF in EVERY situation. Even Indy if I wanted that piece. That doesn't mean that a PF can't look great. It just means I think it would look better as a comiquette.

why? Even in sideshow videos they talk about the production team working hard trying to find the right type of fabric that will work with 1/4 or 1/6 scale because of its density and weight vs the smaller scale. i guess you missed that memo.

Jinxx, I hope we don't have to get our barf bags ready anytime soon.

Yeah, it must have been with the other memo about tailoring something for 1/4 scale vs. 1/6 scale.

Indiana Jones wouldn't be a comiquette if he was fully sculpted because he's not from a comic book. He'd be a statue or a maquette.

First off talking about Indy just doesn't do anything for me. Again, I do not like the character so i don't care what format he was made in.

Second, Marvel published comic adaptations of the first 3 Indy movies. So, I'm still going to refer to it as a superior comiquette version.

I absolutely LOVE this sculpt. The face looks like it jumped off the screen from Sin City or something. I really hope they do more comiquettes like this in the future. I also think the price was spot on. Cant wait to get this one....many....many months from now :(

That is not the point if you don't like it or not dude, it is just plain common sense that Indy with a pretty detail and multi-item outfit would be better suited for PF.

No dude, It would be better suited for YOU as a PF. It would be better suited as a comiquette for ME.

First, it's not based off of whether you like the character or not.

Second, I think everyone knows that a premium format or statue of Indiana Jones would be based off of the film, not the comic book adaptation the movies.

Honestly, I'm just messing with you because you're so dead set on fully sculpted statues. My opinion is that a completely sculpted statue or a mixed media pf can both look great given the right circumstances. The outfit of the character and the art it's based on have a lot to do with it.

I have the Predator maquette from Sideshow and his body net and loincloth are both made of fabric material, but it looks very good to me. I don't think replacing those parts with polystone would really make him any better than he already is.

To each his own.

To each his own works for me. I never have a problem with someone messing with me. I love the banter. It makes this fun.:D At least you didn't label me as a man with no common sense or a sense of humor.:gun:whip

It certainly makes sense for this piece to be fully sculpted considering the cartoony art they're modeling it after. Just as Emma Frost makes more sense being fully sculpted since they weren't using a realistic reference, but a more cartoony one.

But in the long run - if you prefer fully sculpted over mixed media....you're wrong.:monkey3

^^^^, I prefer cloth over full sculpt so much that I'm still hoping SS and LE decide to place a full business suit with a tie and dress shoes on their 1:2 scale Iron Man Maquette making sure to cover all of his armor.

And if not that, at least some shorts.

I'll even settle for knee pads and a fedora....but please SS/LE....something.
