Top Gun. Other movies may look or feel more '80s in retrospect, but this is the one that most perfectly captures the Reagan years' zeitgeist.

Goonies is another one I loved as a kid, as was Monster Squad. Seems like young boys don't get reasonably scary/dark movies like those made for them anymore, which is a shame.

Goonies is another great choice... just had everything going for it :rock

The 80s really were a great decade for films. So many classics from any genre you can think of.

I agree with the OPs choice of Back to the Future. I love that the 'future' referred to in the title is 1985 - 25 years ago!!. In the words of Doc Brown - 'Unbelievable'.

You forgot Terminator....so i'll add that.

And all the Friday the 13th movies.....

Yes I did forget, the shame

Also Rocky III and IV
and Commando.

I wont include First Blood, Predator or Rambo, because even though they are classic movies, there is nothing in them to make you nostalgic for the 80's

But it leaves out everything that was against that, and the antipathy defined the era almost more than the sympathy. At best it nailed down a major piece of it all, but it didn't get the whole picture.

I was thinking Less Than Zero, but it has the same problem.

Superman I - IV ;)

BTTF ofcourse.. Goonies... Teen Wolf..lol..

and Adventures in Babysitting :)

Let's not forget Ghostbuster 1 and 2.
