True science is not opposed to the Bible. In fact, science, properly applied and understood, proves the Bible to be inspired.

True science does not reference the Bible. As a methodology, it does not acknowledge the Bible---or any holy book---whatsoever. If you'd like to interpret the Bible according to science after it is established, go for it. Using the Bible to draw lines in the sands for science (or as a substitute for actual research) is as non-scientific as you can get.

This is why there are scientists: because the Bible does not provide sufficient knowledge for living on Earth.

I can think of worse ideologies (as in more homicidal), but their explicit war against science has been exceptionally disgusting.

And I'm sure that evangelicals will disavow themselves of anything the Catholic Church ever did, which is why I included the arch evangelical's opinion of living by the opposite of pure faith.

And it's not like there's much difference. St. Augustine was the architect of Catholicism wrote, "The just shall live by faith." Luther took that line and changed it to, "The just shall live by faith alone." This was considered progress.
