I know these things can happen. They're just extreme examples so thats why I say Jargon. I know especially the issues with cars. My Dad has been a paramedic for the last 20+ years he and I both have seen some nasty ____. I can't comment on the taking your life issue. As bad as things have been for me personally the last year I would never think that way. My will to live is far stronger than my weakness to check out (dont mean that to be rude thats just my look at it). I'm glad you found a way to get to a better place. Again, no they won't. The process is far far to hard and many folks including myself would stand up for the right to own a handgun or rifle.

But don't belittle the "knife, poison, axe, etc" argument because there are many deaths every year with each of those. It's a VALID point. It is NOT JARGON. You ban guns, you're just going to find a heck of a lot more stabbings or head trauma making up the brunt of the murder rate. CRAZY PEOPLE DO CRAZY THINGS. You can't stop a murderer by taking away one of many, many ways to do the deed.

And you didn't respond to what I said about handguns. Handguns are the majority of gun crimes in America. NOT assault rifles. Yet, you support our right to keep our handguns. Taking away our assault rifles will not chip very much off of the murder rate at all. Take away our handguns? Maybe you would see an effective chip. But taking away either is unconstitutional.

I never said I'm not against censorship. I personally am not for it. When I saw they would be screwing with Mark Twains Tom Sawyer that pissed me off. Again, to do that would require the process and thats damn near impossible. This isn't Nazi Germany where the country is a bunch of babbling idiots that blindly follow.

You do agree with censorship, and I'm not playing with your typo when I say that. I told you in the Lennox thread that I believe that censorship is unconstitutional and you plainly said you disagreed. Therefore, you do feel that things should be censored. You disagree about the first amendment as well as the second. Freedom of speech means I can protest our wars and/or laws right in front of the Capital Building, and it also means I can say ____ whenever and wherever I want. But you feel differently, don't you?

Well, as I said it wasn't until the country nearly came apart at the seams because of Slavery did we do the right thing and then still it wasn't for many more years after that we made things at least sort of right for blacks. Then we have to agree to disagree on that because stuff like gun laws and rolling with those that are 200+ years old isn't wise, and I believe our founding fathers would be upset with us if we didn't use our brains to evolve.

I agree we should keep the rights we have just as I believe in a womens right to choose. I've never stated otherwise. I've just said that no reason for folks to own one style of weapon thats meant for military use not civilian.

Okay, good attempt at trying to distract me with abortion laws because I am female. But we're talking about guns, and I'm sorry you just REALLY don't like that ONE style of weapon. I really don't like cell phones that blast "Cotton Eye Joe" on the bus, but that doesn't mean I think they should be banned.

EDIT: Also I want to add. Think logically about this. If you make it illegal for people to buy assault weapons, that's not going to stop them from being sold. Guess what? Criminals don't obey laws! You're not going to stop the bad people from getting the guns. You're going to stop the good people, who FOLLOW the law.

Ok I read it wrong and yes thats very morbid. As I said its not something I thought about growing up. No, those are used. Those are just things gun lovers use to belittle the topic at hand. Yes, crazy people do crazy things but you would see a dip and a major one in the murder rate. I'm saying if you toughen the laws we have and make better ones.

There was no typo. I've never said I agree with censorship. I just said that people think the first amendment means they can say whatever the hell they want and it doesn't. It was meant that you can say your disagreements against your government and not get in trouble. Not be able to just say you think someone is an _______. Again, its something many scholars who know far more than I have stated over the years.

I think they would have issues with how some have tried to bend the laws their direction. Some of them were strong christians and some didn't believe. I personally will not judge them for being either way. I must have missed where we are trying to outlaw things they gave us.

Don't worry I've been quite logical the entire time. You're correct some will manage to get out there. However, its better to have them not be available makes it easier to track down where the others came from.
