You found another gem Ski! I'm sharing this with folks from now on. People see me eating the way I do and want to know more about nutrition and exercise, but then get turned off by the types of foods I consume. I tell them that if I could get in shape by drinking beer and eating pizza every day I would do it. It's like everyone wants to know what it takes to get in shape, but when they hear it takes work both physically and mentally sun up to sun down; discipline and dedication, they get turned off.

I agree to a point. Anyone who wants to get in shape whether it be stage ready or beach ready needs to raise the level of dedication both in the gym and what they consume. I have read so much on the IIFYM on BB.com site that I'm doing it right now. My caloric intake is the same as it was last year +/- but I'm consuming more enjoyable foods. I still have icecream or a burger but I make sure first that it fits in my daily intake. Eating 6xday works but so does 3xday. If you are eating at a deficit and hitting your macros-you're good to go.
What I really agree on is people getting turned off.
I've had so many conversations with coworkers telling me not to eat carbs after 7pm, eat 5 or 6 meals a day and other crap. Now yes that works but only when I'm at a deficit. Just because something works does not mean it's the only way to do it. I try to inform people of this. Here's an example conversation. "Do you know why I eat boneless/skinless chk breast instead of chk thigh?" "Because it's better for you, right." "No, because I can then eat more total volume of it and save those extra fat calories for some PB later." One of the best resources i have found is Alan Aragorn and others that really get break it down and go after the myths of nutrition.

Edit:
On the dedication part. Another thing is people question why I weigh almost everthing I eat even egg whites/yolks. PB is a bid thing as most under est. how much is a tbsp. I keep a fitness log of my workouts. Somethings I don't like lettuce because it's hard to eat to much.

About to join this neverending journey. Been overweight for too many years now. Bought P90x and insanity, free weights,a matt, pullup bar, weight bench and already starting changing my eating habits. Hard part will be to convince my girl to keep the sweets outta the house. Im ready to look and feel better than I ever have. Wish me luck!

Good luck man! Small changes lead to big changes. Eat well and have sweets in moderation and eventually you won't miss them one bit.

GOOD LUCK! Hope your girl will support you in the best way she can. Don't know what she looks like, but maybe you will inspire her to do this thing together.

Pro tip. Don't force it on her. She will see the results from you. Just make it look easy.

Those programs work without a doubt if you stick with them and keep eating clean. I guarantee you will get results it if you put in the work for them.
