Not sure if this is appropriate in this thread so apologies if not!

I had a lot of upper and lower back pain a few years ago due to poor posture. I started training in Muay Thai 2 years ago and after maybe only a month of training 3 times a week almost all pain the had left me

Obviously it's not the same training a martial art as it is fitness alone but i do a lot of cardio and core exercises, keeping the heart rate up and also full body stretches

I am not one for going to the gym and just exercising or weight training as it bores me too much and can't keep my attention, however learning a martial art has been able to teach me a whole world of things and improved my health and body 10 fold

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a way to keep fit that doesn't or can't just sit at the gym for hours exercising or weight training

Don't know how lifting weights can be boring unless you're using frilly pink dumbells
. Squats and deadlifts are adrenaline inducing lifts and you don't need to be in the gym more than an hour.

I just said it was boring to me and couldn't keep my attention nor did i find it an enjoyable way to train.

Not everyone likes weight lifting and it's not the be all and end all to fitness mate chill yourself.

Insanity sorted my back out all right.
Damn near destroys me everytime I do it but I have it to thank for strengthening my back.

At the moment I must be putting my heart under a mighty strain as I seem to workout to balance out all the crap eating and drinking. Though I have made some permanent lifestyle changes when it comes to diet like lowest fat milk, brown bread, brown pasta, diet coke when i'm boozing yadda yadda.

I just do an insanity when i'm putting on a few pounds.

Insanity!! On week 6 myself, and the workouts are getting pretty nutty. I've adjusted my eating to having a balanced meal every 2 hours (total 5 or 6 a day). Started out 187 and I'm down to 179, but the swap out with fat for muscle makes that loss misleading. I want to get back into running, but I think I'd have to eat more, which means more $$$ :lol

Hey guys, looking for a winter workout activity... thinking about taking up cross country skiing. Anyone do that/have advice?
