Getting fit. I don't go into as much detail as most here but I am losing weight and working out just like other people in this thread. I even posted a picture of my progress a couple pages back.

That is very good progress. Congrats.

I am sure a few of you have the same issue but I am having issues with self image. People are telling me that I look great and I have well surpassed my goal of 177 and am now in the 160s, but I look in the mirror and I keep seeing myself as over weight. The biceps are decent but again they look very small to me. I am sure I will get over it.

Yes. Basically.

I can curl 105lbs each arm 30 times on the bowflex so I know I am not weak by any means and my ribs are showing at all times so I am not fat, just self image thing.

Ahh gotcha, well if it's the mid section and torso that you think might be over weight in, that's the last to go whenever cutting down. Arms and face are almost the first to go right off the bat. Of course just keep lifting heavy with the arms to keep size there and the rest will fall in place, I don't think while cutting if the arms are down all ready then there's no more fat to cut from that certain area and the body will know else where to drop it from.

Have you had ur BF% tested?

Today was EPIC. I did arms today and I tried out a new exercise, the Spider Curl... my arms were looking damn HUGE in the mirror, veins popping out all over the place. It was fantastic, I really had a great time. Definitely one of my better days. I went up 10 lbs on my curls and had a great run too.

The funny thing was, there was this elderly gentleman on the bike while I was doing my jog. And when I went to go get the towel and disinfectant to wipe off the treadmill, he stopped me and said... "Son, I lost 5 lbs just watching you run!". :lol

It really made me laugh, I found it motivating as well that my efforts were also giving inspiration to someone else. :rock

That's awesome bro, yeah you'll find lots of ppl that are motivated by the ppl that really work hard and put out a good effort. People watch a lot of things in the gym, it's kind of creepy but at the same time most of it is flattery or something good that just motivates you even further.

There's always people coming and asking about a certain exercise that I'm performing because I do a lot of the non normal exercises to strength lesser areas and I'll gladly explain what it works and how to do it and there will be a comment like "if it gets me to look like u, I'll try anything" stuff like that makes it all worth it because sometimes there will be a point to where you second guess urself and ask urself why am I doing all this, is it worth the extra time and effort to punish myself like this in the gym. Of course the answer is yes, but our mind is so convincing in good and bad ways... :angelsmil

So you made an old man ^^^^ his pants. Good job Josh.

You are right about that, bro! The mind will always instruct the flesh. :rock

I also had some old lady stop me in the gym and ask questions about her routine. She must have thought I worked there or something. :lol

I gave her some tips and info about a good regiment to stick to, she was really sweet about it all. Overall, a pretty flattering day. :D

Big ole cheat and bi's today, love this day, it's definitely my favorite body parts to workout. Well shoulders is also another one.

You really should add some protein to your diet.:lol:lol:lol

DA, it's funny u always post right before I leave work and I'm about to start my own routine. This does help out with my own motivation :rock

BTW: Tweaking diet and started today, only carbs are coming from sweet potatoes and it's just a medium size one so it's roughly around 30 carbs. Grabbed like six of them on the way to work after this morning cardio session. Another new tid bit that my 10 egg whites in the morning which I would prepare in my blender with a scoop of whey protein and down the sucka... Well I'm now taking out the whey protein scoop part of it and just basically pouring the egg whites into a glass and u guess it.... OWNED :lol

Right there was a lil turning point in my self even though doing this sort of thing for years, never would I of though in my life, I would not be afraid to down 10 egg whites in liquid form, non-cooked just for a meal and the protein. This is where I truly legitly do not care about the food and taste of what I'm eating and it's got only one goal in mind to become the best physical shape of my life. :lol sorry for making it longer than it was suppose to just a moment I had this morning that was a good one and funny needless to say!

Glad to help man! You've helped me a lot too, it's nice to have some inspiration from a friend. Especially when you go to the gym alone like I do.

And I get you on the food front. I'm so into my routine, I don't even think about the "old" foods anymore. I just eat what I eat, and don't let it be the focus anymore. It's all mental. I MAKE it taste good in my mind, and it works. :D

Check this photo out, I really love it... Great motivational pic.

Good job Josh. I have had tons of people at work and neighbors come up and ask about my diet and routine and I tell them everything. Of course I am waiting to see if any one actually tries to do it.

I tried putting egg whites in my shake and it tasted horrible so it is just egg white omelets for me.

Whenever people ask me how I lost all that weight I always say cocaine.

This is a great picture and it really sums up how I feel. My brother flaked out on me yesterday, said he wasn't feeling well, did that stop me from going? Nope. Went to the gym by myself and had a nice little workout. I am still getting myself used to it, so I am running on the treadmill for 20 minutes, working two body parts and doing some crunches. I can't wait to see what comes from this in say 2 or 3 months.

Good point. They keep asking me what I am training for and don't seem to believe it is just to get in better shape. I having been telling people I am competing in the next Mr. Universe contest.
