I've still got quite a bit of weight to lose, so I'm not worried yet, just wanted to make sure there wasn't anything I'm not doing that will result in that not going away, so basically, just keep burning the fat and building the muscle and it should discipate.

Sometimes excess skin just won't go away, especially if you were really overweight. I know I have excess skin that won't go away no matter what I do, given how heavy I was. Even my brother, who was never extremely overweight has a bit of excess skin on his belly that he can't tighten up, no matter how many ab exercises he has tried over the years.

Well I know it seems like you don't want to get over bulky but that area might be really good for u in the long run while losing the weight. I only say this because there's lot of ppl that come from a long ways and lose all their weight but at the end of it all there's a lot of excess skin left, really the only way to reduce this effect is to build the muscle under neath in order to fill out that area. I would keep doing what plan of attack is but if it seems after a while that there's still some lose skin there after losing a substantial amount of weight I would concentrate further on heavy overhead pressing, close grip bench press and dips to build more to take up the gaps.

Yeah, as far as appearances and all, I'm only out to build enough muscle to have a healthy shape really, but I will build whatever it takes to achieve that, if it means bulkier than I forsee to tighter the rest of the skin I will do that.

I've only been lifting a month and burning weight for 5 so I'm sure it's a matter of not being there yet, my muscles aren't just going to make it all go away overnight that's for sure, and I've got a long way to go, I'm only benching like 40lbs right now.

I would say whatever you do, concentrate on that problem area before shedding down too much weight, for instance say your only doing a few exercises for triceps trying doing 4-5 exercises and concentrate on heavy pressing movements, just for that group of muscles.

There's a lot ppl that think they can convert straight fat into muscle and of course that is not true but I've always believe in the heavier you are it's easier to press more weight and take advantage of strength training and building than going the other direction with a lot of loose skin and tryn to tighten. Much easier to replace on the way down than going back up.

Well, the skin area near my triceps was that way even before I started losing weight, it's just fatty, like granpa arms, which is sad for a 26 years old.

At the moment, I don't think any part of my body is flabby skinned, it's all still a good size layer of fat over everything so I think my timing's good to do what you're saying, which was my plan, i didn't want to lose and then tighten, after seeing how that guy who won the first Survivor turned out, i knew I had to work at it while losing the weight.

One thing I'm noticing, either because of my diet change or the fat burn, my skin is actually feeling smoother and healthier than it used to.

Water for the skin part, really does work miracles! Tons less if any break outs. I never really had acne and I could tell the diff when well hydrated. It really doesn't even have to do with acne, it's like u said much smoother and nicer.

Yeah, i've never had acne much, but there was a texture to my skin, didn't quite seem right, now it's quite different. It was most noticeable on my upper arms and that's the spot I notice the most difference, that and my face.

My weekly Wednesday update.

Still going strong at it. Cardio everyday along with my lifting. Tipping the scales at 201.5(with clothes and shoes on). My goal is to be 199 by Sunday.

I just took another round of pics today, just to show another couple weeks progress. I'm still at 204 lbs, but I am losing fat still and building muscle... so that makes me happy.

Forgive my silly faces... :lol

Is that bra for your wife or for you? :D

Thanks man, they are getting there. A lot of it is just muscle recovery from the old days when I used to lift a lot. I'm very thankful for that, and to my superiors in the Navy who constantly made me do push ups and pull ups. :lol

Today I did leg day, which was pretty bad ass. I was squatting 340. :rock

Nice work Josh... you can see a big difference in just 6 weeks!

I need to start the same thing, currently 6'1" and 225, would like to be 190-200... but can't seem to keep the momentum.

There's actually quite a few buff guys on this forum. So far the hugest guys that I've seen are Shawn Ray, Skiman and Ancient Astronaut.

Thanks man, I still have a long way to go. I'm tired of having the gut, the man ****s, and just overall being unhealthy.

You can do it bro, just get started with diet and work your way into the gym if you can. But diet is what helps the most. I know that most of what I have been able to do has been because I have altered my diet severely. Best part is, I don't really miss the bad stuff anymore.

Just keep at it guys. One of the keys to working out is dedication. I seen guys who workout really hard in the gym for a few weeks and expect to see dramatic changes but when it doesn't happen right away they get frustrated and just go back to eating bad food and quit working out all together. I tell these guys all the time not to quit and just be patient because the results will happen.
