Anakin looks like he had a bad day at the plastic surgeon's office. :lol

Funny thing is that I tried reshaping the nose after the fact with tweezers, so it almost was like plastic surgery!!! :lol :lol

But this is really just another example of overdoing it on the battle damage. If the nose hadn't been screwed up, it would've been a much better custom IMO. But I had to push it...

DA, fabulous stuff... simply fabulous. Are you buying two Obi-Wans, one for posing with Jedi Anakin and one for posing with Mustafar Vader? (and obviously that obi would need burning up...) ;)

Yeah, I plan on acquiring another Obi-Wan to complete the duel set. His costume will take a LOT more care due to it being so light. But I think I can achieve most of that with paint instead of fire. Just a few small spots to burn.

Anakin was tough because of those tabbards... they were tough to burn without messing them up really bad. It took a few tries before I got good at it. That and his super thin Shirt (Black one) wanted to light up like it was soaked in gasoline... pretty insane. :horror

Great work Josh, you now have the ONLY Battle Damaged Ani and he does look great on the droid base...

Obi on the way my man but I think he just needs some dirt deco, he never really suffered too much in the burn department.

Thanks Pjam.... It is nice to have the only "Singed Anakin" :lol

As for Obi, his costume did not suffer as much as Anakin's, I guess due to his emotions still being under control and not being as reckless.

His cloak will be untouched, maybe just a little dirtied. The shoulders got a little filthy from the ash, as well as one or two tiny burned spots. Dirtied boots and belt are a must, and his hair will be darkened just a bit for sweat. Maybe a little on the brow as well. But no need for a full repaint. (Barring unforeseen bad paint apps..... GOD I hope not)

I can't wait to set up a few scenes....

"You were my Brother Anakin..... I loved you....."

Same here, Josh.

And for my money, the best line of that duel was:

"I have failed you, Anakin. I have failed you..."

true.... Best line for sure. Made you feel sorry for Obi-Wan. That he understood just how much he could have done differently to save his friend. The truly sad part is that Anakin had no response to it... just started rambling on about Palpatine being right about the Jedi Rebellion. Showed just how brainwashed the poor guy was.

Now every time I watch ANH I can't help but feel sad when Obi-Wan starts talking about Anakin.... :monkey2

Exactly!! Which is what led Kenobi to proclaim "Well then you are lost!!!"

Thats why I love that ROTS trailer with Ben talking to Luke... I always wished that was the first in a stylistic trailer series that would also have Leia talking about her mother from ROTJ with a montage of shots from the ROTS and Luke's ROTJ conversation with Yoda about Vader... Would have been so cool.

Ps. DA I like your new avatar. It is better than the other Vaderkin one you had, tho I shall miss Toy Fair Han.... :monkey2

Yeah, SL.... that line was great... just showing that Obi had finally given up trying to help turn his friend back and stop the fight. That he was no longer going to let his own emotions hold back his skills to end the contest.

And Pixle... I LOVE that trailer, just a very emotional way to tie the saga together and I wish there would have been more. That trailer just oozed tragedy and made you want to watch the movie all the more. Just thinking about it makes me want to fire up the DVD! :lol

And I too will miss Toyfare Han.... I saved the pic, just in case I want to go back... which I might eventually. It was a long legacy, several thousand posts under that image. I can't wait to have him in hand so that I can recreate that image for all to see who enter my domain!!

Actually, Obi-Wan tried to save him right up until the end. He warned him "Don't try it" but Vader was too arrogant to listen.

You have a point there, I almost forgot about that.... Anakin was still under the impression that his abundance of power was going to save him from all injury or pain... when in actuality he was about to have to pay for what he had done..

Still can't imagine what it must have been like for Obi-Wan to have to do that to his friend and watch him burn... hatred still burning in his eyes. Terrible....

I know. It was brutal seeing Anakin burn alive, but what made it even worse was Obi-Wan's expression.

BTW, do you realize our avatars practically match now??!! Can't imagine why... :lol

yeah me too... the prequels really have added an extra dimension to many scenes in the OT, that probably being the strongest one. When he says "....and he was a good friend" you know he was because you've seen it yourself..... and it makes you feel the sadness behind Obi-Wans eyes as he's saying it

fabulous stuff

I know I'm late to this board but here's some shots of my Sith Anakin. (btw, really dug the custom jobs you guys have done with this figure!)

And from the side, it's a splitting likeness to Hayden. Out of all the sculpts so far, I think I'm most impressed with this one. If only his paint was better.
