Denny, can we see the head on a body?

Yes, I think this would help. Particularly if you have a fatsuit to use with the figure like Godfather came with, and some clothing.

Hard to envision how skinny or fat it will really appear on a figure otherwise. I personally still really like the sculpt, but think the body/outfit will need some real bulk to simulate his bulky/fatness.

And thanks for being so understanding despite all the drama and argumentation in these threads Denny. Unfortunately, that seems to be the nature of the customs section of this board, as I have seen it in many different threads for several different artists' works. Just folks with very different, and very strong opinions.

My only suggestions for future projects are:

1) A well taken photo of WIP pics.
2) If time permits release a short video
3)Whoever is leading the thread (Marf, Axe) organizes the suggestions from the forum members and groups the suggestions into two categories.
3a) Suggestions everyone in the thread seems to agree on
3b) Minor suggestions thrown out there

I believe taking these steps will accomplish the following:

1) Avoid an unnecessary reaction to a bad pic and not a bad sculpt
2) Allow the iminime team to see what everyone else is seeing and can all agree on. Allowing them to also see the minor suggestions allows everyone in the thread to be heard as well.

-By all of us emailing Denny individually I believe the direction will be that Denny will try to make everyone happy and that is an impossible feat to accomplish.
-By keeping the information in the thread and well organized then we can all be part of this project and make it special.

The final result of the figure will be like us making our own bed.

Hi guys. thank you so much all of you guys opinion. I will take some time to take both painted heads to show you in next week.
this project was decided because I saw the passion of people who wants us to make it. I asked rainman to help me for this although he wasnt very sure about the character.
regardless of sales, this project was stated on my own to show you guys who want tony. I want to keep this for those who want it.

just what i am not very sure is. will be modification can make it much better? or not. this is my concern. I have had many experiences and sometimes result was worse. because it's just different than the photoshop. adding more fat changes many thing. the eyes would look smaller and the balance can be worse. not 100%. it's just my experience.

it's fairly fat already. but i am afraid it could make the rest of shapes unbalanced after adding fat.
modIfiying hair is ok. not difficult. but cheecks are very different. it means whole face should be reconsider. it's risky work.
photoshopped one is just easy but when it comes to 3D shape. it will look different.

anyway. i will take more photos and show you to get some feedback for painting. eye posisioning is different. others are similiar.

I am not in a hurry for this. so if i get very reasonable improvement data. then i will talk to the master what his idea would be.

I think we'll only know for sure once we get an idea of the proportion. Easiest and fastest way is to put the head on a body!

True, that would help but I think it is plain to see, well it is in my eye anyway, that this sculpt is perfect. I agree completely with what Denny said about altering could only send the sculpt backwards in terms of quality and accuracy.

I'm with Teddy. I hope it goes right into production. I've become very put off by the false impression big blowup photos give. I think once it's standing on the desk or shelf, it will be a real eye-grabber.

I'm posting this late but really want to thank Denny tremendously. Your level of personal interaction with us is beyond awesome! You're job isn't easy and you're supporters know it. You read every post, every day and despite knowing it's impossible, you have a genuine desire to make everyone happy. You posted videos after admittedly being camera shy and uncertain of your English(and never worry about that bud. We all understand you perfectly, witten or spoken.). There aren't enough good words for you. I just hope that you know how appreciated Iminime & Rainman are.

And you can't worry about people arguing. People are free to voice their opinions and sometimes opinions clash. That's part of what message boards are. But I hope you know if your name or company's name gets caught in the middle, it's never personal.

As for getting votes on Tony, I'm VERY interested in a Tony. But I hate to say that I personally don't see the full potential of your team in this. I'll follow the project but can't commit to the present proto.

I think even after seeing the full fig; body, clothes, proportions and all, it still wouldn't hit the same mark as the Se7en set, Neo or Gordon.

As I said to Denny, Gandolfini has very broad shoulders and virtually no neck, which I believe is what is throwing off the likeness of the sculpt.

It's the best picture I could find to compare the two.
