Denny was telling me how pleased he was with the serious interest people seem to have on this... so I think this project is a 100% go.
However the deal is that of all those who have shown interest many have absolutely diverging interest in suggestions specially for the clothing and all. It would be best if all those interested could agree on something so that Denny and his team can have a agreed point to start from...

As I said to Denny, Gandolfini has very broad shoulders and virtually no neck, which I believe is what is throwing off the likeness of the sculpt.

It's the best picture I could find to compare the two.

To be fair that is a very good point actually. Looking at it the neck does look like it could do with shortening?

I would like the leather jacket black followed by bowling shirt stripped black long pants iconic look for Tony I think to please everyone a bathrobe for a extra wouldnt go a missView attachment 49272

Yes going out to get the paper look would be great for an extra outfit but not quite right for the main look imo.

I always liked this shirt's look.

As for accessories would love to see the Rifle Bobby gave him for his B-day, maybe a the Big _____ fish from his dream, pill bottle, cigar, onion rings?

I think this outfit minus the blood and leather jacket should be the outfit.

Neck shortening wont be much of an answer because it can potentially make a disproportion in the shoulder area... the shoulder area is the main issue.. yes his neck is blunt but when inserted and the clothing made with them to ride high that can be covered, however once shortened the shoulders too have to droop naturally...

All this wouldnt have been a problem if a body of that physique was available...

I will be happy to let Denny and his team do what they think is right.

At this moment those were my personal apprehensions for what may happen if the neck is shortened, I have no idea how they are approaching it. I only heard they are trying to make a fatsuit properly for him to fit a Narrow TT

Hard for me to imagine that happening around here. It's the whole thing about "can't please everyone" that ultimately leads to Denny, Rainman, etc. taking actions into their own hands. If they waited for the peanut gallery to achieve a consensus nothing would ever get made. You may be able to appease 4 or 5 guys, but there will be 3 or 4 more who will still be unhappy and want something else.

i like the robe look just for uniqueness (the durden in robe customs i've seen look great), but acquiesce to the bowling shirt and leather jacket look - after all, it's pure tony. plus, should make it easier to handle the body and fat suit.

:lol:lol:lol:lol just kidding.

The robe is silly, unless it's a secondary accessory them it's cool.

The members only outfit prior to the stains is the way to go.

i wouldn't say it's silly. tony had some of his most profound moments in that robe and it's a big part of his character. the picture that army posted is a case in point. but i agree the other look is more recognizable.

Honestly I am with you at every point at this, but the deal is Denny already pulled the trigger on this extremely niche figure, and every one here counts extremely important as a consumer.

Frankly I see whatever the sales of the figure finally being in majority from this forum as there maybe Sopranos fans out there in the world, but not ones who will want to buy a figure from it. If you see the response in facebook to the pics released of the sculpt, there has been reaction/responses only from forum members. The usual responses that come with his other character sculpts are conspicuously absent. Which should be a reminder to how left field this guy is.

Taking a risk like this simply because he saw so many calls for it in the wishlist and it not ultimately selling atleast to the minimal numbers its produced for means a big loss for Denny which will ultimately keep him shy from producing any more of the niche characters from fear of being burnt again. If this was the matrix or batman Denny could have chosen to ignore some voices and gone ahead with what the majority, but here hes not in that luxury. The reason why he was initially reluctant even after making the sculpt was because there was so much difference of opinion of what should be improved what should be done that he was apprehensive of making it a full figure as he didnt know whom to listen and whom to politely ignore as the stakes on each were too high.

However following his appeal a sizeable no of members went ahead and said they had serious interest which made him agree to finish this project. However although the differences of opinion on the sculpt was somewhat settled when the video of it from all angles was released, now the clothing will be another issue as everyone has their own likes. Denny cant do everything here as that means further cost on a low quantity figure (its going to be much lower produced than any figure they've done till now - so unless it sells out the profit margin will be zero to none) and even if he does everything for all the voices he stills stands on a scenario of making very little on this unless he increases the prices and manages to sell it out in the increased prices. Till now all of his prices have been surprisingly low compared what goes in the world of customs in terms of quality atleast.

I have wished Denny the best for this project, he has taken a huge risk with it, he's a great guy and I sincerely hope it pays off for him so that the next time another niche character is thrown up quite a lot in the thread, it too can come to life and make some people happy.

This looks great, but like others every time I see this thread title pop up I think of Alan Hale Skipper, which is actually a line I'd be thrilled to see happen.
