i have to say i am very surprised to see how many negative comments i've read about this figure, as i was in the beginns positively surprised how this came out.
yes, there are some pictures, where it does looks odd and unnatural, but that's only because of the right futzing and weird poses. i admit, that this figure needs some mods, but these won't be something big. as raymond said, with some little fixes, i predict this will be a homerun.

1) shorten the neck. This is most important actually. Most of my iminime figures I feel have too long a neck which I would have no problem shortening but the adapter comes glued in. But for Tony it's most important because it defines his overall body shape.
2) widen the thighs of his pants.. Even more important than padding his thighss is widening the thighs of his pants, trust me it changes everything. if you follow the Hot Toys Godfather pants pattern exactly all the guesswork will be removed
3) widen the waist a tiny bit, right now it's too narrow to the shoulder line.

(...) Also tucking his shirt in for the next round of pictures will help give him rhe illusion of a wide waist.

these are exactly my thoughts too where i would have modded the figure. and these are indeed some minor fixes, which everyone can do. padding the figure with cotton etc will make him look totally different. in some pics, where the camera shots pictures from the bottom on, tony looks more wider, and that's why the figure automatically looking so much better then in some of the other pictures.

if denny won't shorten the neck on the figure, i will pad also the shoulders, to give it the illusion that he has a short neck. with padding also his stomach, waist, thighs, the back, i'm sure this will look beautiful on the shelf :)

and as for the illusion of that "printing my face on a sculpt", i think it's just the painting and lightning which gives you the effect of these sculpts. i don't know if this is iminimes paintings or rainmans...
i just don't like that red shade under his eyes, maybe with some more details, better painting and normal daylight, this figure would look even better.

but one thing i have to say though, as much as i love iminime, their work on their clothes, the headsculpts, the painting, the accessories etc, they NEED to do something with their bodies! I'm aware that they have to look to get their bodies as cheap as they can, but damn, those bodies are indeed one of the cheapiest i've seen. and i don't like the fact of changing all the time the body of a $300-350 figure or modding it all the time.
what i also miss is a stand for their figures. why not casting those stands from hot toys, or just make their own ones? this would give the total package a much better note than it has already. just my thoughts...

I can almost guarantee that sales would also be improved if the figures were properly futzed with so that the clothing falls appropriately.

It would be financially worth it for Denny to send the figures to a board member to futz and take some non photoshoped pics *cough Marf cough*.

:lecture :lecture :lecture QFT from the Red Pill thread.

For three bills I don't want to have to imagine how good a figure will look with better futzing and even light modding. After my initial excitement, and having had a couple of days to reflect, there is only one pic that screams 'buy me'. The rest scream 'proceed with caution'.

After seeing the pics, I was going to post something very similar to Lejuan. I think there is a very good figure to be had here with minimal futzing--padding the outfit, and just posing him in some more realistic Tony poses. But, who knows? We can't assume it will look good when futzed well, if there aren't many pics showing that this is the case. Like others, overall, I don't get a major Tony vibe from the pics shown I'm sorry to say.

I saw the flaws in posing right away and knew it would need work right out of the box like all my iminime releases but I feel there could be something here that's great...

I'm sure I will replace a few things and tweak a bunch of other stuff but I think it can work... There is something off about the head though and that's the too squinty eyes , hairline and nose width I think. I don't think it's face fatness. But I do see Tony somewhere in there.

The truth is with work, and I know people hate that, but my iminime releases are as good as a hot Toy on any day.

I know 300 bucks is 300 bucks but the truth is name one CUSTOM that cost 300 bucks that's up to this level. You can't. These are hand painted and super limited.

I was dissappointed with Michael Corleone not gonna lie. But a little bit of paint tweaks brought out his likeness like crazy now I love it so much and I did it for a few other guys and they are loving it too.

Se7en needed work, yes... Lots of replaced parts body tightening amd tweaking brads head is too small, but the right combo of shirt helped.. The truth is I think it's the best brad likeness ever.

I'm sorry but I'll say it again iminime is a huge asset to this community, look at the matrix thread a few tweaks and proper futzing and the figures improved tenfold.

I support this in full yes it's got some big flaws but a lot is workable. Someone actually did it and gave the Sopranos the attention it deserves.

The Sopranos is so important to me and has been so important to me that it's actually part of who I am.

And I firmly believe that nothing ever had even come close to being as good a show as the sopranos even shows like mad men, breaking bad, deadwood, whatever... Nothing's even about half way close in my opinion and those shows are very very good.

:lol The Sopranos vs The Wire call.

For me it's The Wire. It's a more coherent, complete and better resolved work than the Sops, which imo very nearly ran off the rails a few times. Don't get me started on Vito's trip to New Hampshire :lol

But they're very different shows... I'll always have affection for The Sops because it was the first truly great, epic series I ever watched. But for me The Wire was richer for its multiple layers and textures. I felt smarter by the end of it.

I'll admit I have not seen the wire but plan to once I get Done with enterage which is obviously not a home run show bit enjoyable to watch.

My brother has similar taste to me said he didn't get why people liked it and felt it was another same old same old cop show. I'm excited to watch it still.

I don't see how anything can touch the sopranos though, even close... Gay Vito upstate storylines and all!

The Wire, is to me by far the best Police drama in the history of TV, but it just doesnt even come close to The Sopranos in my opinion.

I place it somewhere just below Breaking Bad, Game Of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire and Mad Men. We really are in a new golden age of stellar television shows though when you look at that list!

If you get to the end of The Wire and reckon it doesn't belong in the same park as The Sops I'd be surprised. Just a heads-up the first couple of episodes, where the story arcs are being established and some of the key characters are being introduced, are sloooooow. I began and stopped watching the first season three times because like your brother I thought it was just like a conventional cop show - but more boring :lol

The rewards start to kick in after three or four episodes though. But if you're still not digging it after 6 episodes chances are you won't at all. And like the Sops, there are some cracker characters. Pretty sure you'll love this guy:
