WTF!!!!?????!!!!!

What the **** was up with the ending???

Who was they guy they kept focusing in on at the bar??

What a weak ass way to go out!

i think that was the point, just stressing that this is the life of a mafia guy.

wish they would have ended on someone other than Journey though...was this the first time the credits didn't have music? was the supposed to mean tony was dead? i prefer to think not...and maybe that was the point.

That final scene was the most stressful 3-4 minutes of my life :monkey4

I know what you mean, the way they kept showing that guy at the bar, I thought for sure he was gonna wack Tony.

last episode is called "Made in America", therefore i believe that someone unexpected will become a RAT!! thats right !! remember you heard it here first.

called it...carlo the RAT

Weren't any shots, I was saying it was a p-ussy way of ending it without us at least hearing shots off screen. David chase just didn't want to show it, but Tony got whacked in the restaurant, no doubt, his assassin was clearly waiting for the right moment, he prolly went to the bathroon to get his gun or whatever...

Chase cut the scene suddenly like that to suggest it was over...

If he did or didnt, it leaves them open for the opportunity for a movie.

Damn, I feel all empty inside.

I wanted a clear no doubt about it ending!!

Well that's fine for speculation, but that's all it is

This would've made one of the finest cliff hangers of all time. But it was a very *****ty way to close out one of the most hyped up series finales ever.

Speculation? A sudden cut to black, then a moment of silence, don't think so... but it does leave the door open...

Well with an argument like that I am left with no retort

We are supposed to be doing this debating. That's what HBO wants. There will be a movie and it will hopefully wrap things up a hell of a lot better than this did. But I'm still cancelling HBO this week :monkey1

Money talks.

With a cliffhanger ending like that, HBO will surely opt for a movie.

I see what Paul is saying, but I think this was a way to leave the option for a movie open.

Ending was p-iss-poor way to end a Series like that, like I said a p-ussy way out to make more money instead of serving the story, episode and audience...

Guy in the members only jacket was there to wack Tony... homage to Al Pacino going into the washroom to get the gun in The Godfather. Since the beginning of this show it's been looking into Tony life/world--- even when he was in a coma we (the audience) still stayed with him in his perceived world... The moment his life ends our window shuts.

He was wacked. Curtains close and we don't get to see his life anymore. The lack of music and Journey screaming "don't stop" just add to the poetic ending.

Of course that could be a croc of sh^t and two years from now the trailer for the Sopranos movie hits--- I hope not.

True.

Also true.

Personally I don't want a movie.
And the tension in that final three to four minute scene was great as at one point my wife wanted me to turn the channel because she was getting too stressed---- That's what Chase wanted... a sublime connection to Tony where we were never in danger but we lived vicariously through his death at any moment...

Here's the other clue, the people they were supposed to meet for dinner had "convenient" excuses not to be there... that's when I knew, the hitman at the bar sealed it for me, Tony was a sitting duck, the cut to black with silence confirmed it for me...
