In this case, the terms were just not there. It actually said "any in stock item." No mention of gift cards or other BS.

I think it is a way for them to get as much as they can for each item. Like I said, I ordered a Jaws maquette about 12 days before the con. It was 175 + 45 shipping. I used an NYCC gift card and that brought it back down to $180. Literally a couple days after it arrives at my house, they drop the price to $150 plus $2 shipping. I emailed asking if they would be able to adjust the purchase price to reflect the $150 and give me a refund (like how most stores have price match policies). They said they would email me back with an answer later in the week. They later emailed me back saying they couldn't do it because I used a gift card. That's nonsense because even though I used the gc, I still paid $30 more.

And believe me, I could care less about the $30. However, I have almost 4k in preorders on their site. I would they they would also want to care less about giving a good customer back $30 when they change the price within a week of shipping.

It's all about full profit son, even though you had so much pre-ordered, I bet a majority of those are exclusives and have a ga-gillion behind ya in waitlist. As sad as it is, they know they'll get their money one way or the other, too much of demand for them to break their own back.... it's business! Not the best business but business...

I agree with you guys. Those terms and conditions should have been explicitly stated on the promotion page. It's as simple as that. If so many people fell victim to this then obviously Sideshow was in the wrong here and I think they should rectify it. They usually do and I think they are a great company but here is yet another opportunity to prove to their loyal fans that they care.

Just my opinion of course.

Exactly. Its nothing to do with the extra $20 I paid. It's just sneaky, and the fact that they do nothing about it almost makes it seem intentional.

the tracking number is still not showing on the Parcel Force website... tick tock tick tock

Sideshow comes through again! I called twice about the rewards points issue, and both times was shut down very quickly. So I put an e-mail into thier customer service explaining the situation. I started and ended the e-mail by stating that I didnt expect to get anything out of this e-mail, but I wanted to let them know that this incident had left a fairly sour taste in my mouth and that previously I was very impressed with Sideshow as a company. I further explained my confusion with the fact that this limitation was not outlined in the terms and conditions section for the rewards points. Today I recieved this e-mail.

"Thank you for the e-mail and your in depth feedback. We appreciate it. The
discount area in the check out process does specify about the combination of
discounts. However for some reason many people do not consider the Rewards
program a discount, which it actually is.

We appreciate the information and have adjusted our Terms and Conditions of
the Rewards program accordingly so that this issue is clearly outlined for
future promotions.

Please allow me to review your order further to see which discount was
applied and the firm difference in the savings. I would be more than happy
to make this one time exception for you and to apply this difference to your
account to use with your next order with us.

I will e-mail you back by the end of the week with more information about
your in-house credit."

Not only did they make up for the confusion, they have actually ADDED an additional bullet to the Terms and Conditions for rewards points. The newly added term/condition #15 is actually in bold typeface AND underlined.

My faith is restored in SIDESHOW. :joy:joy:joy

Very nice, I'm glad they came through for u! This is the way it should be, you take care of them with business and they'll take care of you... Most companies are not like this nowadays!!!

Congrats HS! Once again SS gives me another reason to buy from them instead of trying to save a few bucks with an AD. :joy

Wow, ive just been catching up on this, sorry you guys have had all these probs with what was supposed to be a better deal.
Hopefully SS will sort things out and make it right for anyone affected as they have with HS

DRUM ROLL

...he is here....

TING!

First reaction: Wow! This thing (Thing even) is huge man! What a fantastic sculpt.
I've checked him from all angles cause I've read some horror stories here and overall I'm satisfied.
But I'd like to hear from you guys to see if the following are normal:
1. I now see what people meant about the red paint on certain parts of his body, some people had it on his right-side torso, mine has a little on the feet and arms, but it really doesn't bother me, I kind of like the variety of colour and shading.
2. There is also tiny tiny unpainted grooves on the base, I had to get a magnifying glass to see those though.
3. The only bit that I dont like is the fact that he rocks a bit, the spikes under his feet are smaller than the grooves on the base. Its not a big deal cause he is heavy and once placed somewhere he will not move, but I wish the fit was more tight than that.

Please drop a line about the above observations, it will be appreciated.

Open mouth head is the one to display him with IMO, looks so much better. I'm really happy with the deal, he'll go really well with the rest of the PFs.

All pretty much normal. The degree of red shading seems to vary (though it could be picture/personal opinion rather then actual variation. Never noticed the groves on the base. Though i figure unless I suddenly gain microscopic vision (I'm still holding out hope on that one!) it shouldnt really effect my every day opinion of the piece. Apparently some rock a little more then others though I havent heard anyone claim a perfect fit in the base.

Socko you'll probably get it by the end of this week or beginning of next. Initially they said I wouldn't be getting this until after the 12th but it was here today.
Been looking at it all day, I gotta say I'm really loving it, its massive. The red paint makes more and more sense the more you look at the statue, it adds a "bronzy" classic feel to it.

I had to use Saran wrap on the post of back right leg to prevent rocking. It was enough to bother me and make me paranoid that he could acidentally get bumped and be thrown off balance.

I was thinking of what to use, thats a very good idea the wrap thing, the sticky tape would leave marks

I got mine today, amazing how fast actually.

I've the same peg problem. One hole is way bigger than the peg itself. But Thing rests very stable.

The base itself is hollow and I can hear something inside when I move it.
Also the base isn't standing straight. I had to add something to one of the 4 glued on rubber like circles to make it straight.

I also miscalculated his size. He doesn't fit on me shelves. So I've to create something myself.

I love the way he looks though. The paint itself isn't even disturbing me. It makes sense the way it is painted.
