And I don't think "everyone" likes putting Weta down. I think whenever Weta did something right they were praised for it and when they didn't, they were criticized. Isn't this exactly what happens with SS whenever they introduce a new piece?

I kinda thinking from the preview pic it will maybe be more around $200. I know also that I am gonna be ordering right when the newsletter pops up because SS may pull another faux bronze bananza on us.:emperor

After I missed on the bronze Yoda, I set a recurring Outlook reminder at work for Thursday just so I don't forget about newsletter day. I'll be monitoring newsletter closely from 6-8 PM as well.

I don't think it'll cost more than the Helms Deep dio. I thought their aim with the first two was to show the difference in scale they could do, so I think Helms Deep would be the most expensive they'll release, but I also think there'll be bigger scenes....just parts of it released seperately.
Also with the Helms Deep dio you got 3 characters, the wall, and a ladder, so I wouldn't think that a dio consisting of 2 characters and *maybe* a bit of background wall would justify it being any more expensive or even the same. UNLESS they really are gonna blow us away and include a hell of alot more!

Well, it was to show the difference in the body size and scale of this line. That being said I think they ARE going to include a lot of base. Why? This piece calls for it honestly. So yes there will only be two characters but I think we'll see a pretty decent portion of Orthanc. It might not be the case I suppose.

The Helm's Deep base was pretty big, in my opinion. Even if the Orthanc base is only halfway between the Helm's Deep and Crack of Doom, it should still be substantial enough to give a sense of context.

I really don't think this piece will be any cheaper than the last dio.Though obviously will will find out soon enough. Yes there are only two characters but from what Darklord Dave has already alluded to, the background [Orthanc] will be extensive.

I also don't have the slightest doubt we will seen more expensive dio.'s in the future. Not trying to give SS any idea's but I would be very surprised if the eagle vs fell beast statue isn't at least $349

I imagine that the Eagle diorama could be more expensive than the Helm's Deep, and I would be surprised if the Saruman one came close. I would think that $200 is a good starting point for the sake of guessing.

Hmm I suppose that if we want a Balrog vs Gandalf that would have to be quite big and expensive....
At least these are only coming out 2 or 3 a year so if like me you only collect this line it's not so bad on the bank account.

God I hope they don't even think about that as an option. Electronics in say the staffs, the lights in the pic, stuff like that. Keep the spinning characters to the toys at Wal-Mart.
