I wonder how big this LSB will be?
As I remember Sauron, The Morgul Lord and The Cave Troll were all a substantial size
Well there's another 5 pieces of me that just died.
It's been that long? Oh well, just my perception of the pace that these have been coming out.
Yeah, between Spooktacular 07 and ToyFair 08 SS churned out the WK, Ringwraith, and Legolas busts all in rapid succession, then only the Aragorn bust during the next 13 month's. Medically speaking, if the 12" line is dead, then this one's been on life support.
i guess for the true lotr collector this might be a line to collect, but look at the lsb marvel line, after every release everyone says the line is dead, or why do the continue with it when they all end up on second chance???
and ssc still keeps pumping out the marvel line, but i believe the marvel line is more attractive in this size, simply because of the huge marvel universe and the more of a comic book look.
the real life characters in the lotr line are so hard to get looking like the originals, except of course for the fictional characters such as lurtz, berserker, orc etc. but when you can get such a high quality PF statue in the $300-$350 range, it makes it hard to justify $200+ for a small lsb.
I'm sure it'll look great, but until i have the money and room in a grand countryside mansion to display everything i want, i'll happily stick with this great little fella!

SS's Marvel line is so popular these days they could produce a LSB in the shape of a dog turd and it would still sell out. But as hard as it is to believe now, at one time LOTR would have blown Marvel right out of the water. I think the biggest problem LOTR has is that the craze is long over and many people have moved on. But there are still some of us diehards around, and while it's pretty obvious the PF line tops them all there are some of us who love the LSB's. Personally I much prefer them to the SSW line of busts, and really how can anyone claim the line isn't successful when most are sold out or near sold out. I think the track record of the LOTR LSB line is that if SS produces it, it will sell . Now if only someone could light a match under SS's butt, they might get moving with this line....
Do you even know what you're talking about?
Sell out? Near all their LSBs are on second chance and some in the gift card section. Don't believe the "Sold out" till you don't see the WL as a option.
I smelled that also... buurrrrrrrn.....
Great reply Woodsy
Well I certainly don't know everything, but apparently I know alot more than you do.
I know that 4 of the 9 are sold out.
I know that another 3 of the 9 are on waitlist which is meaningless, since all 3 were all put up for pre-order between 14-20 month's ago, and all have been sold out for some time now. I also know there's a snowball's chance in hell that any of those will ever convert, but don't take my word for it...put yourself on those waitlist's and 6 month's from now, let me know how you make out. Come to think of, why not put your name down for an excl. Lurtz PF while you're at it, since it too is now waitlist available. Point being...anyone with a brain in their head knows these 3 busts are long gone.
I know that currently 2 of the 9 are on 2nd chance. One of those [ringwraith] was put there because 3 busts were found and posted in the Jan. 22nd newsletter. The other [Aragorn] because 30 busts were found/returned and were available as of last week's newsletter.
Is 2 out of 9 [or a whopping 22%] your idea of "Near all their LSBs are on second chance" ?
Pretty well the only thing your post reveals is that : a]. you don't have a clue what you're talking about, and b]. apparently my 8 year old has better math skills than you do.
