:lol, I know, its always the same when something like this happens and a LE appears.

SSC can't win, so many variables when it comes to announcing a new product.
Some people want more of a run, some poeople want a low number ES.
Others want a PPO, some like the thrill of it just being announced.
Then there's the time zone, ultimately everything will be released to the SSC time zone so unless they do a PPO during their night-time, the EU and other parts of the world will always miss it or at least will have to stay up for it.
Even with a PPO, it could still be the middle of the night, its always the middle of the night somewhere.

Just my thoughts anyway
x :peace

:lol Your being too logical Shell...that all makes too much sense...now I have to find someone else to blame for missing this, any ideas?? :monkey2:lol

Then again, when they do the High elven PF and we miss out due to this...there will be no logic :banghead:banghead:lol

Well in that case i think SSC should relocate to Lancashire (the known centre of the universe) and directly email me with all new release's and release them in my dinner hour.:lol

he he he.
If that happens I expect a personal phonecall from SS to tell me in advance :lecture:D
If they make a High Elven Infantryman and I miss it then someone else can be logical cos I will be running round screaming :lol

WOW?? remind me to pitch a fit when I have to work the evening shift on thursday and miss something. I wouldn't even have the chance to get up and check the newsletter. :monkey2 :monkey2

We don't even know what the Ex were limited to (Site still say's TBD) so why are a few people going after Sideshow for such a low edition size on this piece?

Has anyone found the edition size listed somewhere else?

Sideshow should post two newsletters, one for U.S. customers and one for EU customers and released during their respective times. Split the predetermined ES between both newsletters and when an item is gone, then it's gone. At least folks on either side of the pond have an equal chance of ordering what they want.

...I'm surprised it sold so fast when it went up a good hour or so sooner than usual.

Actually, the newsletter has been coming at around that time for several weeks now...

...it's just not worth staying awake or setting an alarm because there aren't even guarantees that it will contain anything worthwhile...

...but come on Sideshow your avid collectors get your newsletter and would at least like a warning that this is coming for PO...

This was previewed in last week's newsletter and about 99% of the time, when a product is previewed in a newsletter, it always goes up for sale the very next week.

One Hour at a reasonable time if you live in the US not so for the EU my friend even if it was available for TWO hours from 2am-4am in the EU we are, most of us doing a little thing called sleeping which means we can get up early and do our jobs fairly well and get paid so we can BUY THESE PRODUCTS!!

Yes but as has been said, an hour at 3 am in the morning isn't much use to people who have to get up for work!!

Doesn't bother me as I have absolutely no interest in the LSB line at all, but for all those who wanted this I feel your pain. I got up this morning, looked at the newsletter and clicked on the link just to see what it looked like. My first thought when I saw it? Wow, how did it sell out so quickly?? Now I know - lots of annoyed EU customers SS - way to go - again!! :banghead:banghead

Just thought I would highlight these two completely comflicting statements :monkey3:lol

As for me: I am a wee pissed at SS with all this but :dunno what can you do, they have shown that their US customers are more important than their EU customers...do I have a problem with that? In all honesty: not really, but lets not pretend that they do!!

I do understand how you guys must feel, but this topic has been discussed many, many times... Sideshow is a US company and most of the things they do have to fall during their business hours when employees are at work. They do understand about the time zone differences and have specifically done some orders just for International customers... remember the Frankenstein VS Wolf Man SSE diorama that went up at about 1:00AM PST during Spooktacular? And there have been others; at least they do try on your behalf at times. But seriously, they can't please everyone when they sell internationally. If they did newsletters and PPO's to suit the EU, let's say for 5PM your time, it would be early morning in Asia and Australia... then those customers would complain. There really is no way for Sideshow to win in this situation, other than the way they do it... most things are done on their time and they do occasional things to benefit other time zones.

I see your point lcummins but as choopie says there is a simple way to do this, have an EU newsletter and pre order, how hard that be? If they also sell what previewed the week before what happened to Lego PF then? They chop and change so much! It can't be that hard to set up a an EU order desk/news letter, they'd sell even more products!

and Gondorgirl I am all for the drrraaaaaaaaammmmmmmmaaaaaaaaaa!!
Bring it on!! :rotfl:wacky:lol

That would be one way to do it; they have to have a pretty good idea of the percentage of sales in the US vs Internationally.

As for Legolas, he was "officially" previewed in this week's newsletter... the image they released during Toy Fair was just a "sneak peek".

What is the highest we saw the low quantity alert meter?

I'm surprised it sold so fast when it went up a good hour or so sooner than usual.

It wasn't even up when I ordered mine. It popped up a few minutes later and was at 80.

The early NL just shows that given a chance SS could sell these out in EU and rest of world too.

BTW This would make a gread PF. I hope we get one down the road.

This was available for a good hour so everyone should have an opportunity to order one....

I thought it would have been sold out within 10 minutes...but nope... 1 HOUR.

It sold out in 40 minutes, and it would have sold out much sooner than that had people realized the newsletter was up at 5:20 PST. I normally don't even start checking until 5:30 or so, but knowing this was going to be up for pre-order [the bust itself, I had no idea there was going to be an excl.] I started looking for it a bit earlier.

Why in the heck aren't we seeing an edition side on the Ex yet???

It went from "available" to "low quantity" to "sold out" and still has the TBD listed as the edition size...

Maybe they really didn't have it preset...?

They actually do this a lot; the edition size will most likely be announced in the next newsletter or two.
