The US Populations' opinion on France

My very conservative Republican friend hates France because he says we saved their butts in World War II and now they act snooty to us. He says he could talk for hours on why he hates France.

If anyone hates France because of World War II, and solely because of that, why the **** would you not hate Germany about 10 billion times more?!?!

Anyway, it was pretty nice of them to give us the Statue of Liberty in 1886 as a gesture of kindness.

France also assisted the USA in securing independance from The British. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if your friend never set foot in France.

Also the whole surrender part always cracks me up. France was one of the most powerful countries in the world for a long time. Not to mention they are a huge reason the USA even exists, without their help we would have likely lost.
