I think at this point it's pretty safe to assume the comic has little to no bearing on what happens on the show.

It would make for interesting drama for Eugene to be bluffing - Abraham would not take it well. It also makes the most sense for the show, since finding a 'cure' really isn't in the cards. But Eugene gives them something to focus on, and it also provides a way to get Gareth back to them, since they already blabbed the whole thing to him, including that they were trying to get Eugene to D.C.

Really?? while the show doesn't follow the comic 100%, overall the show has been pretty aligned with the the comics. We even got a bearded Rick!!

In the comic Eugene is full of crap...the radio he is carrying around doesn't even work. He concocted the story for his own protection knowing that a guy like him wouldn't last long without help

I see. That's what I had assumed of the character on the show. Thanks.

The show takes enough liberties with the comic that I wouldn't assume Eugene's story line will progress the same way. If I tried to make a list, I the number of differences probably outweigh the number of similarities at this point.

And I particularly doubt the show will diverge from the comics on the Eugene thing.

edit - hah, and look what Kara posted.

I mean I very much doubt the show will decide that Eugene really does have the cure, various events will differ no doubt, but not that fundamental thing.

Finally caught up with the thread after being off the the grid for a couple.
Excellent start to the Season - non stop intensity!:yess: The Talking Dead was great too, I never would have caught all the termite family connections.
If I had to find one thing to nit-pick it would be the convenient line of "red shirts" in front of the main cast at the slaughter-trough, but that's easily forgivable.:lol
I agree about Rick going back to Terminus to clean-up and avoid another Governor debacle - those psychos have to go.
I wonder when they'll work Beth back into the mix?

WRT to Beth and Gareth and the Pastor - soon. The trailer shown in the summer includes all three of them and there's no way they had started filming the second half of the season all the way back in July when they put the trailer together. Count on the trailer's contents being early material - most of it was from episode 1 in fact. I'm guessing within three episodes for Beth.

If you've watched the trailer (debuted at Comic-Con) then you know Gareth is going to be back and is talking about Washington (40 second mark in the trailer). They cut the scenes so it's hard to tell to whom Gareth is speaking, but it's somewhat clear he's not in the same place as Rick's crew in the interleaved scenes (church).

Yup. They did the same trickery with Season 3 between the Governor and Rick, making it seem like they confronted each other early.

You guys don't want to witness her grueling death? I'm sorry to say that I expected more out of you all. *shakes head disapprovingly*

Seriously though, I think she was really likable in the episode she shared with Daryl. I kinda hope she makes it awhile longer.

So, if Carol hadn't lucked into a zombie herd moving in on Terminus, would the Termites be enjoying a Rick, Bob, Glenn and Daryl stew right now?

I have to hand it to the writers, the weapons that were being crafted in the boxcar were pretty creative. I would have never thought to use my coat zipper as a makeshift saw. Probably the best I could have done was use my belt to strangle someone.

I guess you would have to assume at some point the Termites had to man up in order to take back the sanctuary from the marauders. The human cattle they were grazing on must have made them soft. Seeing Rick's group making weapons instead of crying in the dark is why the Termites got their @$$e$ handed to them. Or to the walkers.

Liam Neeson is getting too expensive, they need to sign Carol on to star in Taken 4. :lol

Seriously though, if her and Daryl could mate their babies would come out of the womb with endoskeletons.

They can. So they'd come out like every other baby?

Exactly. :slap

Don't know if you're joking or autistic, but it's a Sci Fi reference to endos not a medical reference. I'm surprised you didn't quote to let me know that Carol is a fictional character who can't star in Taken 4.

Endoskeleton only means one thing, whether it's sci-fi or reality. I suppose you didn't catch the correction on the usage of the word "could." ;)

BTW, haven't you heard the news, Daryl's gay - but he could still impregnate Carol with a normal human baby. He just wouldn't.

I'm not sure autistic people nor those who care for or know someone with autism would appreciate the other comment. But as an American, it's to be expected that you'd say something like that, right?

Just my luck she be dying and she'd have to break into song. Now that would be grueling!

Autistic people tend to be fairly literal, which seems to be what you were going for bypassing the terminator baby reference. I get it, you're trying to be funny. Like 90% of your schtick, it just comes off as stupidity when I read it.

It was a poor reference. Maybe you should have said metal endoskeleton or simply "terminator." And I wasn't trying to be funny, just trying to help someone post something less ignorant. Sorry I should have realized who I was replying to.
