Got to watch it last night - really enjoyed it. Great opening for the season. I'm very happy to see the Terminus plot wrap up quickly - I was concerned that they were going to drag through half the season before they escaped. Carol has elevated herself to top dog as well, although she was already pretty high on my list last year.

I think Tyreese did kill the dude, but as others have said, Gareth will be back. I'm also not quite sold on the whole 'we were good people and the situation made us this way' routine. Gareth had his own brother killed when Rick took him hostage, and then they have him on the table getting cut up for food. There's one leap to get to cannabilism - there's a whole nother one to get to eating your brother when you don't have to.

I love the flash back too, and how the guy at the end was the one in the container that Glenn freed.

I think Eugene is being honest, at least as far as he knows. He doesn't have a cure, just a plan to kill all the walkers through genetic manipulation. While everyone has the virus, the virus doesn't become 'active', altering you until death, so I assume he believes he can target only those that are already a walker. Then again,he may just turn out to be a great bs artist, using the lie to keep stronger people around him protecting him. You have to admit, it would be a pretty smart idea.

Can't wait til this weekend!

I wondered if Eugene is the cure. Kind of like an I Am Legend vibe. And I have no issues with his explanation. To him it's clear as day. People with extremely high IQs tend to be on a different intelligent level than "normal" folks.

I sure hope not. That is the basic premise of Znation on SYFY. A prisoner given an experimental vaccine was bitten by zombies and survived. That group is trying to get him to a CDC location so they can reverse engineer a cure from his blood. The more I think about it seems like Eugene is smart enough to know he doesn't have what it takes to survive on his own so when he encountered Abraham and his group he cooked up a bulls#!+ story to save his own skin. I wouldn't want to be him when Abraham finds out he has been duped.
On another note I was thinking about that opening scene in the slaughter house. It's kind of surprising that they didn't switch Bob and Glenn's positions and have the butchers take Bob out before Carol's explosion. Rick's group has become a bunch of hard *** survivors, but looking back it seems a little far fetched that all of them made it out in one piece, especially when Glenn nearly got blasted in the head 3 times. The writers could also be setting everyone up with a false sense of security about their favorite characters.

Great start to the season, it had a little bit of everything. :rock

I think maybe Tyreese just beat the crap out of cabin boy but he's still alive as is Gareth. The red handled machete just has to come back into play and Tyreese leaving that guy alive may cost him or Sasha her life.

Morgan showing up at the end was pretty cool.

Too bad about the Termites, they just can't catch a break. When they were good people they got victimized and when they were bad people they got beaten down. And I disagree about the Butcher/Cattle thing. It should be you're either with Rick or against him. Because if you're not, it don't matter if you're the butcher or the cattle. :stake :lol

If I have to pick three to die this season, I'm going with Carol, Tyreese and Glen. Bob, Sasha and Beth are the easy picks. :wink1:

I have never really cared for Glen or Carol. Glen seems a bit weak and drippy and Carol reminds me of Jamie Lee Curtis all butched up and annoying . I wouldn't mind them making a drastic exit from the show

Killing off primary characters has already gotten too predictable and boring. I welcome a season where none of the core characters are let go - that would be changing up the formula.

So, if Carol hadn't lucked into a zombie herd moving in on Terminus, would the Termites be enjoying a Rick, Bob, Glenn and Daryl stew right now?

I have to hand it to the writers, the weapons that were being crafted in the boxcar were pretty creative. I would have never thought to use my coat zipper as a makeshift saw. Probably the best I could have done was use my belt to strangle someone.

How so? From everything we've seen so far, Abraham's primary purpose is to protect Eugene and get him to D.C.

Abraham is a motivated and focused guy to begin with. It just so happens that Eugene is his current motivation and focus. What I am saying is that if Eugene was not around or turned out to be a fraud, I think Abraham would find something else to focus on and motivate him.

Maybe I misunderstood your post, but I thought you were trying to say that if Eugene weren't around then Abraham wouldn't stick around either because he would have no focus or motivation.

I personally think Eugene is full of ****, but that's just me.

If they're planning 6 or 7 more seasons, there will never be a cure in sight. What better drama than Eugene bluffing and becoming a fraud just like a certain comic.

I was just responding to your earlier post asking if Eugene had done anything useful yet.

You leave Bill Cosby out of this.

I think at this point it's pretty safe to assume the comic has little to no bearing on what happens on the show.

It would make for interesting drama for Eugene to be bluffing - Abraham would not take it well. It also makes the most sense for the show, since finding a 'cure' really isn't in the cards. But Eugene gives them something to focus on, and it also provides a way to get Gareth back to them, since they already blabbed the whole thing to him, including that they were trying to get Eugene to D.C.

I haven't read the comics, somebody give me some Eugene spoilers please.

In the comic Eugene is full of crap...the radio he is carrying around doesn't even work. He concocted the story for his own protection knowing that a guy like him wouldn't last long without help
