Great episode...as far as why they went into the basement like that? It's simple really...because it looked awesome on TV and sometimes that is reason enough.

^
Exactly. It's good TV. Most of the stuff you just can't think too much about.

That said, I can't see the series trying to make an issue out of alcoholism just for the sake of it. It was a key plot point earlier that directly affected the group, but I highly doubt they'd focus on it in any other meaningful way. The series has never been an after school special. lol

If it was a walker bite why wouldn't they show him taking a look at it at some point and then crying. I don't think the director would leave that point up in the air.

I think they left enough bread crumbs to make the audience think Bob was bitten...I think they would rather have the bigger surprise of Bob revealing that he was bitten after the hunters sliced off a taste.

It would be interesting if they turned a little "differently" than normal, due to their ingesting as opposed to dying. Then again, maybe cooking the meat kills the infection? :huh:lol

I was thinking the same thing, cooking it cured it, that way bob still lives and the termites don't die

Think Gareth is working with the termites in some fashion?

Probably the one in which he dies. :lol

He will defeat the zombie apocalypse...then challenge for the WWE World title.

We re-wound that part with Abraham & Rosita three time and couldn't make out what he was saying.

Some of my thoughts on the episode-

- I would have never gone into that water in the basement. Who knows if there could have been waterlogged walkers under the surface.

- I agree that Gabriel most likely turned his flock away and hoarded all the supplies for himself.

- As soon as Bob went under I figured he was bitten and when we went out for a cry that just helped seal it for me.

- I don't how Morgan will play into all this. Maybe we'll find out that:

1) He's still very nuts

2) He can't say no to a good BBQ :lol

When Michonne is bashing the Walker's head in, Abraham says, "That there is why we wait for our moment." Rosita smiles and says, "Yeah, fair enough." The simple explanation is that it is in reference to asking them to go to DC. Seems slightly covert and sinister to say so I wonder if it could be referring to something else?

Also, I noticed in both the season premier and this episode that Gareth knows Bob's name. Gareth also makes a comment to Bob about it being "cosmic justice" that they are eating him, although they would have done it to anyone. I wonder if Bob and Gareth have a shared past of some sort? I would think it unlikely as Gareth has been at Terminus for some time and I am sure Bob would have warned the others about Terminus once they arrived. Still, I got the feeling that their paths crossed before some how.

Solid episode, with some nice setups for the rest of the season.

1- The conversation wiih Abraham and Rosita was about DC. He needed them to go with them, but had to pick the right time to bring it up to ensure they would/ That was his point with Michonne - her asskickery was much needed.

2 - Bob's not bit. Sorry, but there's nothing to indicate it. I know why the comic readers want it, but everything he did fit with the rest of the episode. When he kissed what's-her-face, he said "Another one" because it's their 'thing'. They did - and he said - the same thing on the road earlier. He went outside to cry because he's the guy that always stays upbeat and positive, but that's hard to do. He wanted to go to DC - see how he acted with Abraham earlier. He wouldn't go without Rick, but he wanted to go. Rick agreeing was a load off for him too, a relief. Add that in with all the pressure to be positive, and you get moments where he has to be by himself and let off some pressure, hence the crying. On top of that, he came back with them and spent several hours with them before going outside. That's not something he would have done had he feared dying at any time. That doesn't mean it still can't happen, but there was nothing in this episode that would lead you to believe Bob was bit. And Bob ain't done yet...

3 - Really like Gabriel. Interesting coward of a character.

4 - I really liked Rick asking Carol if she would have them - a nice touch on his part.

5 - I don't expect Gareth and company to last long, one maybe two episodes. I don't think we'll see much of Carol and Daryl for a couple episodes either, as they are two of the three people that they mention in the preview as 'gone missing'.

Like I said, solid overall episode - can't wait til next week!

Reminded me of a bad joke, what do you call a guy (in the water) with no arm's or legs?

Bob.

Hopefully they rescue him before he becomes the living embodiment of that joke.

Some good points, but I disagree that there is nothing that indicates Bob was bit.

1.) He was attacked by a walker underwater.

2.) He was crying outside the church.

3.) He seemed to be limping.

Now you may be right and all three of those things don't mean he was bit, but they could also indicate he was bit. I am going on record to say that he was bit. Rick and company will rescue him. They will bring him back to the church and discover he was bit and say their goodbyes to him.

I like your insights into the show. Good stuff.

I am loving the new showrunner, for me season 4 and these 2 episodes are so amazing. I really really hope they don't get rid of him
