so like in the future, the next episode of TWD aired, like they're gonna go to Washington right? like Washington or bust. look like they busted all vehicles and water too, like they're walking all as a group too

Washington will be season 7 or 8 (maybe)

AMC's Walking Dead is geared towards the lowest common denominator so I can see why people are so quick to get defensive when people criticize it's awful writing in certain episodes. It's in their nature. The thing that I don't understand is why the staunchest of fans (the ones that will love even the blandest of episodes) get all offended when the detractors are only pointing out their own problems with the show? If you'll notice, the people in here that have supposedly caught the "crow virus" never attack other members who enjoyed the episode. The episode's writing and use of characters is the point of contention and yet, the fans always have to resort to name calling against those with an opposing opinion except for The Ween (and a few others that I respect in here).

As for the creators of the show, I get it, they don't have to put out their best stories like the creators of Breaking Bad or Mad Men because there's a built in fan base that just loves seeing Daryl shoot a walker in the head with his bow. That's about all they need to see to proclaim it as "teh best show evar". The circular formula of the show every season caters to their kind of taste and intellect so it's completely understandable. The thing that this thread needs is respect, a trait that's been lacking for the last couple of years since, well, season 3.

It's posts like this that are offensive to viewers. :lol
In the first sentence you insinuate all viewers of the show are the lowest common denominator. (Lowest common denominator isn't something to aspire to be compared to.) Next sentence you claim ignorance as to why fans of the show get offended. (Because the criticisms aren't just focused on the episode. They usually insinuate something about the viewer too). Next sentence you say that people with the crows virus don't attack other members who enjoy the show. (Your post here implies otherwise.)

Don't bother, man. It's pure straw man baiting and crudely, at that. There are no 'best show evar' fanboi's in here, and the longest standing defense against the critics has been if you want more Daryl shooting zombies, then go play video games. That's the crap we had to listen to from blackmask back when he couldn't stop asking questions because he couldn't understand anything. It's trolling. It's dumb, and you give credence to the nonsense when you honor it with a counter argument. Don't waste your breath on it (even though your post is exactly right, you can expect some kind of rambling, convoluted denial in response).

I think back to the discussions from S1-3 that you, me, Nam, pixy and wofford and a few others got into. We hardly ever agreed, but there was always a level of intelligence and mutual respect that is in short supply these days. I miss those days, but I guess it's like Rick says...you can't go back.

Regardless of whose right or wrong I guess I'll keep any discussion about this show offline then. The atmosphere in here is uncomfortable. People you like fighting with other people you like. As Rick also said ''I can't have that''.

It shouldn't be like that. People should be able to come in here and discuss the show with others without having to put up with some keyboard commandos.

I agree about this thread being uncomfortable. I rarely post in here because anything negative is typically jumped on by the fanatics that have claimed this thread as their own with no room for criticism. I wish I always had positive things to say about the show but the truth is that TWD has become a show that a lot of people keep watching for the 2-3 awesome scenes per season though they have to trudge through the rest. The majority of the episodes are boring filler because the writing is dull. Deaths of main/secondary characters are for shock value and typically not done well. Some characters will be safe through the end so there's no fear or suspense for them. Zombies are ninjas when they need to be. The list goes on but why bother continuing with it since this will already be dismissed by those who live in fear of the Crow's Virus. The show used to be great and needs to get back there again. Maybe the addition of Negan will give the show the spark it needs to become terrifying again--though the writers will have to grow some balls and follow through with the "no one is safe" rule for it to really work.
