Anyone think it's fair to say that Rick & company really have been a disaster for the Alexandrians? And Rick's plan at the start of this season, despite perhaps a sensible enough intention, has ultimately gone so horribly wrong that the only possible reason they should embrace him as leader is due to having no other options?

I thought this was pretty cool:

Although I think the zombie on the right looks like the comics Falcon!

No. Without Rick there would have been three times more walkers outside of Alexandria.

Rick's actions are more acceptable when he has his beard. #bringbackthebeard :rock

If Rick never arrived the wolves would have found Alexandria and everyone would be dead

Or the walkers would have escaped the place where they were being held and attack

Or both.

That town wouldn't stand a chance. It is a miracle they lasted this long

Will the Alexandrians see it that way? Or will they think ''boy we sure have been getting massacred since we let Rick and his group in''. They might just look at it from that less analytical angle.

Yeah, at a minimum carl owes ron at least one good pistol whipping. Just for good measure for that stunt in the garage.

That story is a great way to elevate carl to show how radically more sophisticated he is than ron in this world. Instead we get these freshman fights in the parking lot after school deals. Ron looks like he got his ass kicked BEFORE the apocalypse. No way he should be able to compete with carl.

I agree with both perspectives. From the audience's point of view, Rick's plan had good intentions and was well planned (and it would have worked perfectly had the Wolves not screwed it up). Rick's decisions have largely been intended to serve the community's best interests, and we as viewers can see that. But from the Alexandrians' point of view, all they see is that the community has gone to hell ever since the arrival of Rick's group (the deaths of Aiden and Reg, the scuffle with Pete and his subsequent execution in front of half the town, the attack of the Wolves, the walker parade plan going awry and several Alexandrians dying in the process, half the herd making it back to the town and breaching the walls, and the death of Deanna, not to mention the carnage that will likely take place in the midseason opener). It'll be really interesting to see how the townspeople (or what's left of them) will view Rick and his group after the herd has been wiped out.

Agreed. I thought Carl's depiction of being such a bigger person than Ron was great storytelling. Not only did Carl cover for Ron after he had been a little *********, but he took it upon himself to firmly but calmly disarm him in private. Not to mention how Carl was being so optimistic in such a bleak situation while Ron was too busy wallowing in pity and talking about how everyone was as good as dead. I also loved how Carl told Ron to his face that Pete was an *******. :lol Carl has become quite the badass, imo. :rock

That could be quite the storyline as we go forward...one side standing with Rick while the others don't.

They would be pretty much in the same situation soon they would've been out of the quarry anyway. And of course Rick couldn't have predicted the Wolves, or the church collapse.

They were on borrowed time anyway. Actually, it was by pure miracle that they survived unscathed to that point.

I realize that Morgan is still insane. he never came back from insanity. He traded one form of extremism (violence) for another (pacifism)
instead of being over-obsessed with "clearing" he is hyper-obsessed with the teachings of Eastman, and aikido. but the difference was that Eastman was only putting his life and his goat's life in danger. Morgan is putting Everyone's lives at danger. besides Eastman was a freaking psychiatrist
