does anybody know if next season going to be the last one ? I think its time... as much as I enjoy it.. I have the feeling this show is running out of ideas

LOL. Wrong. I need to post this again.

Why Do So Many ‘Walking Dead’ Characters Have to Die?

No... people are and how people react drives the plot.....

It is boring when everyone is kept safe. What is so entertaining knowing that everyone will live on in a show that used to pride itself on the motto of no one is safe.

Please, continue on and tell us about all the characters that have evolved so much.

Your ADD is showing WWE. You needed to post the same article twice because clearly you hadn't read through my entire post before you posted the link the first time. I'll concede that at least Kirkman has focused on the "no one is safe" approach and I agree it is an important element of the show, but in order for characters deaths to have any impact or meaning to the viewer, the viewers needs to care about that character and become invested in them and their struggles. This happens via character and plot development, which takes time. Something you and other viewers seem to have very little patience for. If the show is just indiscriminately killing off a character because "we have gone X number of episodes without killing a main character" then the show is no better than a glorified B grade horror film.

Personally, I still get that "no one is safe" vibe from the show every week. Everytime they venture beyond the walls of Alexandria, someone could die and that has been happening, but just not to your own set of expectations. I'm done debating you on the merits of this show because you have your opinions and views and I have mine. You're not going to change my mind and I'm not going to change yours.

Help us to understand why you are so bored with the show. Why do you want Daryl to die so badly? Why do you want the show to be an exact replica of the comic? Where is the fun in that? In knowing exactly what will happen and when it will happen? Personally I like the deviations Gimple has taken from the comic because it keeps things fresh for all viewers. None of us, even you, know what is going to happen next.

Just seems like some people get no enjoyment out of the show except waiting for main character deaths. To me, that's a silly reason to watch a show. I only watch a few programs. There are some I've started watching and at first enjoyed, but later I didn't care whether I watched it or not so I stopped. I have always enjoyed this show since the beginning. I look forward to it. I miss it over the summer. I'm invested in the characters. I give a ****. I don't wish death on any of them simply because I'm bored and need a short lived thrill. If one dies, then they do, but I don't sit week after week hoping for it.

I agree!

I find GOT a chore to watch with very little investment because yes, no one is safe. There is no character on the show I WANT to be invested in because they could die at any moment, so I end up not caring about anyone. Who are we supposed to root for if they're just going to die when things get boring? Especially after the Red Wedding, I've just been watching it very passively, not really caring.

I'm still enjoying WD even though it's been a little formulaic. Hell, I even kind of liked the hospital storyline because it was a little different. They weren't a truly evil group, just demented, and it was an interesting set of people. I particularly liked the lady cop and was sad to see her not get integrated into Rick's group. But I agree the show isn't about who dies next and more about how these people are surviving, like Mister Ski said.

There's no other way the show can go in terms of formula. It is just a case of surviving, make friends/deals or kill people to get by in life and kill the occasional walker every now and then. All they can do now is introduce new groups and characters doing the same thing.

Yeah, Its not like they can do much else. They can’t pack up the kids and all go to Pacific Playland. :)

Oh, now throwing insults? It is nice to finally have you defending this show! I read through your entire post, then replied with the article. I then decided to reply to the rest of it. I even said I will post the article again. I needed to show your ignorance to the point of the show. :)

The show has had two seasons to build characters up. They haven't done anything in regards to deaths. They can take a few episodes, build a character up, then take them down. Example of this was Denise. People seemed to care that she died. How many episodes focused primarily on her? Or episodes where she has had prominent screen time? Two? Three? So, please tell me why they haven't killed a major character off. That character development (which, is basically non-existent on this show outside of a few characters), takes a handful of episodes to do. A handful of episodes, make the audience care about said character, then kill them off. Easy to do, yet the writers/showrunners are turning their backs to what makes (made) this show great, unpredictability in who lives and who dies. No one is safe. Now, it feels like everyone is safe.

Personally, I still get that "no one is safe" vibe from the show every week. Everytime they venture beyond the walls of Alexandria, someone could die and that has been happening, but just not to your own set of expectations.

I don't. Not one time did I think, "oh no, _____ is going to die!" Maybe with Glenn.... but then I saw through the little fake/pretend death. It is obvious to read this show now. Even with Denise, says a sob story, opens up, stands there in the open camera pans back, shot is on her... easy to predict what happens in this show now. Everyone is safe. They always kill the walkers. They all always win. They always escape a predicament. If I never read the comics, I would think Negan is a wimp. I would think the group would find another way to weasel out of a situation and win and kill Negan.

My expectations are that the show will stay somewhat close to the source material and general ideas of Kirkman. Read the comics (maybe you have, I don't know) and you will maybe get a sense of where I am coming from. They do allow character development, they do allow characters to grow, but they die from walkers or threats. In this show, they don't anymore. The main characters are all safe. I hope that finally changes. Season 7 should be a bloodbath (human blood, not walker blood), but it won't be because this show is focused on milking it out as long as it can go with no regards to good storytelling.

I'm done debating you on the merits of this show because you have your opinions and views and I have mine. You're not going to change my mind and I'm not going to change yours.

I already did change your mind though :lol The creator himself proved you wrong :lol

Because for about the last year or longer I knew a general idea of what would happen. Not from spoilers, a little help from the comics, but a general intuition of how this show is run. It is like WWE now. Easily predictable outcomes.

I want Daryl to die, for that "character and plot development." Negan's group has lost every single encounter with Rick's group. Every single one. They are wimps. They are weaklings in this show. How do you build them up? How do you build up a villain? It is like wrestling, you take the most liked guy (Daryl) and have the villain win. Negan bashes in Daryl's skull, he won't be a likable villain, he will truly be despised and hated forever. People will watch to see him die.

I liked the first three or four seasons of this show. Deviations from the comics were nice. Ever since the road to Terminus crap, that is where this show slowly started to go down the drain. This past season has mostly been enjoyable, hopefully season 7 is the best season yet.

I have a general idea of what will happen. Follow the comics arc.

Man, I am 100% on board with you about Negan taking out Daryl. That would be the most epic thing this show could possibly do...too bad they are setting up the Dwight vs Daryl undercard though.

Dwight killing Daryl would take the biggest set of balls to do. Having Negan, the big new baddy, kill him could be expected. But having Dwight take him out would be a big middle finger to everyone. :lol

:rock

Yeah, the more I think about it... the more it seems Daryl will be battling Dwight... but

just from what happens with Dwight in the comics.... makes me think differently.

I've enjoyed most of the characters up until now. Some alot more than others. Some have worn thin with me over time. Negan's entrance has to be epic, especially with the amount of build up he's getting. Killing Daryl would be the tip of the iceberg for me. That would really show that "no one is safe" in this world. Taking out Rick's muscle and leaving the fans in utter shock. Awesome.

I'm pretty sure that was the idea at one point. When I saw the scene, there wasn't some huge, obnoxious CGI blood burst on the camera lens and Dwight never said "you'll be alright". It really was convincing to me like he got his head blown off with the squibs and everything. That's why I put him in the Dead pool contest thread back in January.

I think the producers and AMC chickened out.

Maybe Daryl will take over Dwight's story line? Rick, Maggie, Michonne, and Daryl....

Hmmm.... now that would be very interesting. I wouldn't be opposed. If told correctly, that could be a very good arc for Daryl.

Maybe they are saving Daryl for Negan now and not Dwight?

Daryl will be fine. Can someone please get rid of Morgan?! Don't like his philosophical perspective. It doesn't work for the post apocalypse. :lol

I think the potential cliffhanger of
Negan hitting someone and cut to black until season 7
will piss alot of people off.

Could be wrong though. It might play out differently.

You are delusional. :lol

You read into my words what you want to. I can tell you live for this online debating stuff. Cannot fathom why someone continues to watch a show they are bored with and find so predictable. Maybe it validates your existence. I don't know or care. No more WWE in my life.

Oh, no, no, no. Morgan gonna stay right here until Mr. Green says different. Morgan gonna be here for a long, long time.

Okay, so some of you get your wish and Negan kills Daryl, then what? Then who has to get killed to make the show "epic"?

Glenn, Morgan, and Carol. They're done, stick a fork in them.

Abraham and Eugene are becoming more interesting than those three Season 1 originals. Father Gabriel too.
