Yeah, I was going to ask if "torture porn" and "gore porn" were the Pee Wee's Playhouse words of the day or something

I think the term "torture porn" is thrown around without thinking.

Do you have anymore examples?

What is porn? It's people actually doing the deed in front of camera. Real people doing real stuff.

torture porn
noun
1. A genre of horror films in which sadistic violence or torture is a central aspect of the plot.

These are imaginary characters doing imaginary things to each other with rubber bats, gooey makeup, and prosthetics.

All designed to look as devastating and brutally real as possible.

TWD dead could only be correctly termed "torture porn" if the actors where actually doing these things. As it is, it is fantastical. You really should just "get over it". If the fake gore bothers you, you may be right to stop watching it... that being said, why did you ever watch it in the first place?

My comment was general about the show - your comment is personal and attempting to passively aggressive attack me.

Why can't a discussion just be had without personal attacks.

Could you specify two things for me?

1) Where do I ever mention you?

2) Please show me anywhere in what I wrote that could be construed as an attack against you or anyone.

Pornography can still be simulated and still be considered porn, such as softcore pornography.

The baseball bat/throat slitting combo in the earlier season shocked me more. But perhaps it's because I wasn't expecting it. Glenn's comic death has been so talked about for such a long time, we all knew what was going to happen this episode, it was just a question of who, and how graphic. Possibly in the interests of viewer squeamishness they should have just shown the first shot (eat my balls), and then moved the camera for the rest of it.

But, as I said earlier in one of these threads. Imagine the male on female violence outcry if they had graphically shown one of the women getting hit. People are upset now?... That would be a multitude worse.

Dale's death was much more disgusting and gory (WAY more gory) yet how come no one had as big of a problem with that?

How come zombie deaths get a pass? Why is it that the zombies can dismember and tear someone apart like the kid from everyone hates chris where u fully see him getting eaten ( or dale having his stomach ripped open)

And all walking dead fans were absolutely ok what that, how come?
Why are zombie deaths not shocking even though they are MUCH more gory....

I think it's because zombies aren't real therefore it's supernatural. Those types of deaths are expected.

Parents are complaining about the gore.
Peoole here are calling it gore porn or torture porn.

The gore from a paranormal kill looks equally the same as the gore from a human kill.
The make up is equally messed up. The gore is equal...

If the gore itself was the problem....it just makes no sense.

This show has been " gore porn" for a while

It's hard to describe. This gore was different. Instead of seeing someone running from a zombie and eventually being eaten, this was inescapable execution. The show was constantly threatening. It was relentless gore and it was happening to characters that people have watched for years. It was gore plus a very upsetting situation. Seeing Glenn's face like that was stomach churning. If we saw a zombie eat someone's face then people wouldn't be shocked - because, after 6 seasons, we have come to expect that - people might even be immune to it. But a barbed wire baseball bat to the head...that's different IMO.

I'm not saying anyone is correct or right or wrong - I just want to discuss why some people didn't like this episode. I think the amount of reviews and discussions happening all over the internet speak volumes that a lot of people was repulsed by what they watched.

They should of had them all tied up. First Abraham gets killed (in a non head bashing way), he turns into a zombie, and then they let him feast on Glenn in front of everyone, then finally finish them both off.

I'd suggest people watch Supernatural and then get back about gore porn. I think people need to get a clue. Not every comic is an MCU family Disney get-up. Executions are everywhere from True Blood to Dexter to Game of Thrones to Boardwalk Empire and so on. Mature ratings have a wide range of showing. Hostel could be shown on television without cuts, except for the nude parts. That's it.

Sounds like everyone had a problem with how emotional the kills were. Not with the gore.
I think wveryone is freaked out over the hopelessness u are talking about but that might have nothing to do with the gory scenes

omg lol i knew it was going to become a thing :lol

:lol omg poor lady lol

maybe im just too jaded and desensitized by horror movies, maybe the people having no problem with the episode are just too used to horror and gore?
maybe we are the weird ones? :lol

In case anyone wanted to see, Greg Nicotero posted some pictures to Instagram of a certain....makeup from Sunday night.
