Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

the show must have been good cuz i was still thinking about it when i woke up today. and yes it will be replayed next friday and saturday a few times if anybody missed it. i only wish DIRECTV had AMC in Hi-Def but it doesn't.:(

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Not sure if walking barefoot through half the town is the best idea, might catch a infection.

Hopefully they replay it.

It's AMC, so more than likly. But IMO, 'Demand' is a good way to go. I dislike how AMC puts up commercials every 5 minutes.

Loved it!!! It had the right amount of gore.

I actually made me feel like I'd have no chance in hell at surviving a zombie outbreak. :lol

They need better or I should say more willing actors. none of them were biting into the horses guts. have they not studied the Romero films?

Question, A zombie can bleed out and still live, but it can die out to hunger?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Wow, what an amazing, emotional pilot episode!

The bicycle zombie that he killed and when Morgan tries to kill his turned wife were the two most heart wrenching scenes...I admit I welled up watching those..

In the Zombie School, they explained it to us like this:

The Zombies don't "die" unless the brain is destroyed (like all classic zombie lore). But they do get weaker and start to "whither" when they go too long without flesh. Then, they basically just shut down temporarily and "rest" until they smell fresh flesh again. This is what the guys in the bus and the soldier in the tank were doing in the Atlanta sequence. When the zombies get too hungry, they basically preserve all their energy and chill until a food source comes along. But they will also continue to rot. And the more they rot, the less mobile they also become as well.

Hopefully the series will get into the pseudo science of the Z virus.

heh, I knew that part. But what I meant was how can they live with a blown off or eaten torso (half chick)? Don't they bleed out? I thoght they did, and thats another way they can die?

No new compliments to add, just more overwhelming praise for this show. Fantastic television.

I'm not a zombie freak, so maybe there is other lore that contradicts and you are thinking of it, but if that was the case, how would you explain decades of movies with zombies missing limbs or their necks sliced open and stuff?

Every movie I always seen is they keep coming until you get their brain.

They don't really "bleed out", because they're dead. The heart's not pumping and the blood is coagulating... except for the brain.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

i wonder if this series could respark interest from SSC in their 12" line?

I know...WTF?!

I had to switch the screen format on my TV to zoom it out because it was irritating me so much. I figured it was just because AMC was showing all those old horror films this weekend. Didn't realize the brand new Walking Dead was going to be the same. :gah:

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I really enjoyed this show and found myself during the scene when
Rick wakes up in the hospital and is going down the dark stairs ready to get up and leave the room. That was when I realized this was really good. I thought for sure he was going to get attacked during that scene but the fact the he didn't made the affect better because I'm sure everybody assumed he was going to run into something and that had everybody (I'm sure) on edge.
Can't wait to see episode 2. Its nice to have a show this good to look forward to each week.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Just finished the episode and thought it was pretty decent. Hopefully it'll continue this success the rest of the season.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

After about the first half hour it was feeling very cliche, but once the deputy joined up with the other guy and his kid it really sucked me in. Nice to see some proper rotten zombies again.
