Just saw the first episode. Wow!! I am not really into zombies but this was awesome.

Also, I read somewhere that a second season has already been ordered.

What an awesome show and WOW, what a way to start it!

I had no problems with the pacing as was mentioned earlier in this thread. I thought it was an awesome build-up to Atlanta. I loved the dramatic elements they have in it as well. I can't wait for the next episode.

Yes, I think the pacing is going to be a sort of style marker for this show.

Last night's episode was excellent, and the park zombie was one of the coolest effects I've seen in a long time. The trailing thigh bone made all the difference.

Stayed up until midnight to watch this one, and it was worth it. Great fun. They really pulled the story right out of the comics. I just hope that they stray a bit more from the established path as the story moves forward (as they claim they will). Seeing a comic or book on TV or at the movies, as it was originally created, is nice. But it feels a little less than fulfilling somehow. Watchmen and Sin City felt that way to me. This is a new medium, and it warrants a new product, though a necessarily derivative one.

Pacing was fine. They need a methodical pace like that to stretch this out over, potentially, several seasons.

I thought it was good, but for some reason it made me very uncomfortable. I'm not sure that's the word I wanted to use, but I seriously felt odd afterwards. Maybe it's the mood I've been in lately.

Good show though! This is the kind of stuff that SciFi...oops...Syfy should be putting out.

Yes. There will be at least 2 more seasons at 13 episodes a piece. They've already set up a production office here for Season 2 and have started preliminary casting.

From what I understand, they've got 100 issues of the comic at the moment and hope for something like 250

They're at 78, and Kirkman would like to do at least 300 issues. But it doesn't matter, because the show will take its own course. And, arguably, it transcends the source material anyway.

Actually, toward the end of the last shot (when we're crawling onto the tank and the camera is pulling up) I start fighting with another zombie, we fall off the tank and then both walk over to the mob around the horse. I never got to it while we were shooting (thought it WAS a free-for-all) but I did take a piece of the ribcage home with me.

Loved it!!! It had the right amount of gore.

I actually made me feel like I'd have no chance in hell at surviving a zombie outbreak.

Went to sleep early, I was exhausted, missed this Eastbound and Boardwalk last night.

At least HBO's on Demand, I didn't check to see about this yet.

AMC has on-demand, as well, though I don't think they have HD on demand. I noticed episodes of Rubicon and Mad Men on last night. Presumably Walking Dead will be available there, as well.

But seriously, what a great start, so promising. And to show you the power of great drama, my friend who despises anything horror, especially zombies, has already proclaimed this as his new favorite television show. A very powerful statement, no doubt about it. I sort of forced him to watch it, and after only ten minutes, hooked...

So awesome, its going to make waiting for Sunday night unbearable.
