Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

I don't think wofford has children so he can't imagine what those survival instincts will do if they kick in when you have kids. It's easy to be high minded when you are safe and comfortable behind your computer monitor and with no one depending on you but yourself. At least have the imagination to understand that you are not being realistic nor practical and your ideals, while admirable, in such a situation where the very foundations of civilization have crumbled would leave you a victim of your own naivete.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Apparently, that makes you inhumane. You gotta put strangers/rapists who try to kill you first. :lecture:lecture:lecture :exactly:

You over generalize with the best of em'.

No one is putting anyone first. It's not about the killing. I have no problem with him being killed if that's the decision that is made. My problem, as has been stated, is with the process. If you want to kill him cool, but they did the right thing in letting it breathe and discussing it as a group and not just giving up on civility because you think you're making a tough decision by killing him instantly because you're convicting him already. You keep calling him a murdering/rapists, but outside of what he said he witnessed do you know for sure he did any of that? That's exactly why it's best to try and keep order because you'll always have someone with knee jerk reactions falling off their rocker ala Shane.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

The father killed to protect his son. The way you're arguing, you would have let the guy go and ran for it to save your humanity.

So then why do you want to be in the truck gang again? And I'll bet you good money you couldn't find one of my posts that would implicate I'd let someone kill me or anyone in my family. And just for the record, had nam not grabbed the kid and put a knife to him do you think the man would have wasted a bullet or just walked away? My point of the video is the sentiment of the book. The father and son keep on just fine and make tough decisions while keeping their humanity without becoming like the cannibals.

I'll assume that was a typo.

Rewatch Daryl's interrogation scene and look at Randall's face. Especially when he calls the girls "pretty." Then come back and try and argue this. He gave enough evidence to Daryl for Daryl to kill him. So trying to dump this ____ all on Shane being psycho is irrelevant. Then when you add what was said by the EP of the show and the director of the episode, Shane was right initially and Daryl would've killed him had Dale not run off in a hissy fit and gotten attacked.

I'll assume that was a typo.

I ignored it. He's got nothing else. :lol

The Man had no choice but to kill that guy, he couldn't have walked away because he had to kill him to protect his family. YOU would have walked away and Peeing Guy would have whistled for his friends and you'd both be dead.

The father and son keep on just fine and make tough decisions while keeping their humanity without becoming like the cannibals.

But you're main argument has been that by killing the Peeing Guy he lost his humanity.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Just a two quick pennies from the stands before I go back to spectating: Call me inhumane but if my son and daughter were even in 1% threat by Randall especially after hearing what his group did to those girls and how they acted, I would have shot him in the head without thinking twice even with Dale _____ing and moaning the background. My kids, wife are way more important to me than a random stranger whether that makes me a monster or not I don't really care.

This. I detested Shane for using Otis as bait but in all honesty I could easily see myself doing what he did especially if my loved one's life is at stake. Once Randall told that story of the camper and his daughter's, that would have sealed his fate for me. Whether he participated or not is not something I'd be willing to bet my loved ones lives and safety for.

:lecture I was like why the hell did Shane shoot Otis?!?! Then after thinking about it some more, the fat bastard had to go to save Carl (which led to freeing the Mud Walker which led to Dale's death, so if Otis would have lived, Carl would have died and Dale would be OK :cuckoo:)

I would have done exactly what the father did, but the father didn't jump to conclusions and the father wasn't intending to kill, the father reacted to save his child. And what the ____ do you think whistling would do that shooting a bullet didn't to alert his friends. It's the whole reason he was trying to get away before the man grabbed his kid. Go read the book or watch the movie if you're struggling with where I'm coming from.

But you're main argument has been that by killing the Peeing Guy he lost his humanity.

What the ____ are you talking about? That hasn't been and never was my arguement.

:lol You've been posting for pages that there's a better way to handle things for the sake of humanity and now all of the sudden you would have shot him?

Jesus ____ on a ____ing stick. :lol I've said a billion times it's not about the killing it's about the process to reach the killing. I would more than likely have shot Randall between the eyes, but I wouldn't have done it on my own accord (unless threatened), I wouldn't have done it because of a facial expression he made, and I wouldn't have done it just because. I would have done it because the group decided on it and and the process to make that decision was exhausted. He wasn't a threat, they had plenty of time to handle it and they did exactly what they should have done which was discuss it and hold on to what civility they still have. It was a tougher decision to save him and bring him home and do what they did by giving it time and a process.

During all that talk and discussion Randall could have broke out, hurt Carl in the barn, got a hold of a weapon or who knows what else, putting the entire group at risk.

There's no 911 anymore to call for help and take him to jail. Not leaving him there to die or killing him yourself, puts the entire group in harm by taking him back to the farm. Hershel was right about leaving him. You not killing him just because puts everyone in danger.

Yes. Instead of just killing him it was far more civilized to take him back to the barn, beat him up, blindfold him and basically terrorize him, debate about it all, and then kill him. :lol
