Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

It seems like the spoiler tags are just too difficult for some folks...

I wouldn't be shocked to see Merle show up again next season, but not in the very obvious capacity that might be spoiled here. And I'm assuming we aren't tagging last night's episode events as spoilers, so this is clearly a comic book speculation:

Maiming Rick in the same way as in the comics seems unlikely for lots of reasons, not just the cost of taking out the hand on such a main character. Lots of screen time, lots of cost. And let's not forget that Rick didn't technically cut off Merle's hand - Merle did. He may still blame Rick (although blaming T-Dog is just or even more likely), but the writers haven't fallen back on anything quite that obvious with any of the other storylines...yet.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

When Daryl asked Carol what she wanted and she said "A man with honor" and he responded with "Rick has honor" I was all :rock :rock :rock!

Daryl is the best character on the show right now. :yess:

Yeah, I really likes that part and then of course Rick telling them this is how it is. About time Rick who I like manned up and told the group who was in charge.

I wanted to choke Carole last night when she got pissed that he didn't say. It's like would it really make a difference? Would you rather just die and get it over with or keep on living? Her and and Lori can bite it anytime.

I'm with ya on Daryl his character kicks ass.

6 more months till..........................nevermind

:(

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

I'm also glad that when Rick stepped out of character and told them to put up or shut up, they all weren't with him at first. I want them to come around, not just suddenly be behind him. Daryl and Herschel already understand Rick and who he is, so their acceptance makes sense, but the rest of them should be a little shocked - at first - by this turn of events.

You can always tell who watches Talking Dead and who doesn't :lol

I got pissed at Carol also, I wanted to give her one of these...

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Loved all of it last night! :rock

Darryl just gets more awesome with every episode. He never panics and always has great dialog. And I was relieved that Herschel survived as well. His character development this season really brought him to the top of my favorite character list after Darryl and Rick. Not shocked on the casualties but wouldn't have minded if Lori bought it - between her inability to watch Carl and her being so wishy-washy over Rick/Shane I've just had enough.

:lol at Herschel and his unlimited shotgun ammo, and Andrea has come so far from S1 - she's a complete badass. Having not read the books I'd only heard of Michonne reading here but her character looks like someone pretty well adjusted to this zombie ridden scene...looking forward to more.

I see no reason for anyone to be upset about Rick holding on to that info from Jenner. As a leader he makes the call on whether something like that would be a morale killer and really, he couldn't verify it until Shane turned without being bit. Why upset everyone prematurely?:dunno

Long wait until October but it gives me and the wife time to revisit S1 and S2 once the blu ray hits...I'm hoping the first teasers for S3 include some snow...real potential for some more great visuals.

love this show.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

quite a solid season ender. the farm escape was pretty thrilling.

but i have to say that lori's reaction to what rick said has got to be one of the laziest, most contrived bits of screenwriting ever. come ON. it feels unearned and out of place. it's so obvious the writers are trying to (artificially) manufacture drama and discord between rick and lori over shane's death (and carl shooting him). to me, it just reeked of daytime soap opera. i was actually pissed off when that scene played out. i was hoping that they wouldn't play her flipping out but true enough, they did. the character of lori may be purposely written as erratic and unsympathetic, but there are more organic ways of conveying that than the way they chose to do it. ESPECIALLY following the antagonistic way she'd been behaving towards shane all this while. one single "confession & make-up" scene is not enough to make the character have such an about-turn.

now some of you might try to call me out on it and say "well why don't YOU write it then?" to which i say: the onus is not on me to write better. it is on the writers of the show. i may sound like i'm down on the walking dead as a whole but i'm not, i'm really just taking issue with one problem i feel has plagued the show from time to time --- not knowing where they're really going with certain characterisations and then winging it or force-fitting things because it's more "dramatic" or expedient.

but yeah, other than that, the show rocks. :lol

bring on season 3 and michonne!

See, I dunno, for once I actually thought it was okay. Seemed like her reaction to Rick killing Shane was more that she was shocked he'd actually manned up to the task. But it was Carl putting down Shane-walker that pissed her off. Though I could guess one could argue why she suddenly gives a ____ about Carl despite being incapable of giving enough of a damn to actually watch the little bastard. It was her ineptness as a mother that had Carl out there in the first place. :monkey1

you said it. lori's such a frickin' useless mother, what right does she have to get all righteous about carl shooting shane? if she spent more time NOT LOSING TRACK of him, it wouldn't have happened in the first place. again, i peg her "where's carl???" stupidity to lazy, shortcut writing. just like the scene where she drove out for no logical reason and got her ass nearly killed by a walker. :slap

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Which is precisely why I don't understand how more people don't see her as the real danger to the group. She made Shane break. She's ____ing with Ricks head. She tried to turn Maggie against Andrea. And she can't even mind her son, which got Dale killed.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

When Rick gave the group the "my way or the highway" ultimatum, I was actually hoping Carol would throw a hissy fit and run off into the woods to try to kill herself.

Unfortunately it wasn't to be. Oh well season 3 then.

But to be fair to the character, her behavior is still within the ambit of reasonability. Lori on the other hand...daymmm, she is even more annoying in this tv series than she is in the comic if that is even possible.
