Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Lori getting an Attitude with Rick was absolutely ridiculous. 1st she wants Shane to be dealt with since he's a "danger" to the group, then she's gets mad why? Is it because she doesn't have two potential Men to F__k anymore? She's mad that he killed the dude who wanted to kill him and pump her full of his little Shane's? REALLY? I would've done the same.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

I am glad Game of Thrones is starting very soon, otherwise I'd be going crazy waiting for S3 to start.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Great season finale. Tense, suspenseful and full of zombies and it has set it up well for Season 3. I thought the opening sequence of the zombie herd traveling from Atlanta to the farm was a little odd. I wonder if there is some significance there? :dunno

We see that the helicopter causes them to start traveling and is most likely the same helicopter that Rick saw in the series premiere. I am guessing their attention is initially drawn to it because of the sound, but what would prompt them to keep following it for countless days and miles until they got to the farm? We don't know much about the Walkers so the following is pure speculation on my part and is something that will keep the Walking Dead part of my brain occupied until S3 starts in the fall.

First of all, who is in the helicopter? I am guessing that is it government or military based people. It is not unreasonable to think that a good portion of governmental and military personnel (especially high ranking) are also surviving the zombie apocalypse somewhere. With all the disaster protocols and fail safes in place, most high ranking officials are whisked away to undisclosed, safehouses/bunkers as soon as the sh!-t starts hitting the fan. I'm wondering if the government/military inadvertently caused the zombie apocalypse while experimenting on some new type of bio-weapon - which might be the pre-cursor to the virus. For everyone to be infected with it, it has to be readily prevalent either in the air or the water supply. I'm guessing it is airborne as that makes the most sense and explains how it is a world wide epidemic and not isolated to certain geographical areas. Now that the virus is out of control, "they" - meaning government/military people have been observing the Walkers via the helicopter(s) in an effort to understand them so that they can control them. Could the helicopter have been influencing the Walkers behavior at all? If so, I think it would have to be either sound based (beyond the frequency range humans can hear) or smell based (some type of pheromone?). Could the helicopter have been doing something like this to test out how effective this control mechanism would be with the goal being to clear out Atlanta? Or was the helicopter purposely nudging the herd towards the farm to wipeout any survivors? However, I'm not too convinced about this sinister aspect of my theory yet.

Obviously this theory is still a work in progress but I can't help but try and look at the bigger picture here. The helicopter could be as simple as the helicopter crash in the comic, but to me it seemed they were purposely planting a link between the helicopter and the Walkers migration.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

I also didn't get all OMG Ninja Zombie Killa like the rest of ya. :dunno

Word.

I don't read the comics, but Michonne? Sounds like a bad Mexican chorizo joke.

Something about a katana wielding quasi-Jedi with pet zombies in tow doesn't jive with me on the show for some reason, too fanboy'ish I suppose.

Didn't like Lori since she got speared by Shane way back.

Andrea went from hated/whiney ______ to number 3 bad ass on the show.:rock

All hail to the Ricktatorship! :bow

I think you're putting too much thought into it. Walkers saw the chopper, it flew out of sight and earshot and they just kept walking, with others joining. They've already pointed out that when a walker's headed a given direction, others will just start to shamble with them.

:lol You're probably right, but I need something Walking Dead related to think about until S3. So who was in that helicopter?:dunno

I agree. She seems way to styalistic and larger than life for a show that always seems to keep one foot planted in reality; even in unrealistic situations.

Come on. You guys are pronouncing judgement on a character that has only had 10 seconds of screen time (if you really wanna call it that, since we never did see her)... I can totally see the real world application of her character and I am sure to Andrea she did seem a bit other-worldly.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

do they go to a prison in the comics too? As big as that place is, there's gotta be other people already there.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

I believe that Herschel is still alive (survived the zombie herd at his farm) to take the place of Dale-- Dale had a much larger role (and longer surviving one) in the comic just as Shane had a very much abbreviated role in the comic, and that was changed for storytelling purposes. With their need to kill off Dale (due to the actor's [Jeffrey DeMunn] request/voicing out his concerns over Darabont's departure) they needed to replace that moral voice (from an elder statesman) and Herschel, as he's being played, definitely fits that bill.

Can't wait, if that's true, to see Herschel get
munched on by some cheerful cannibals at a cook-out.

I really enjoyed the season finale-- and I absolutely loved seeing, as a fan of the comics, Season Two end with the introduction of Michonne as well as the visual of the prison... Good things next season.

This was explained on Talking Dead by Kirkman.

Didn't Hershall go to the prison in the comics too? I thought...

He died at the hands of the Governor personally, when the Governor attacks the prison, somewhere around issue #50 or so, and Hershall begs to be put down and takes one to the dome. Or was that someone else?

I must have missed it then because I don't remembering him explaining much about the helicopter. I do remember him saying he has gotten good at answering questions without really answering them though. :lol

Yep, you're right :lol I'm re-reading them now-- I just got to them finding the prison. It's fun to re-read them again now that two seasons have been done of the tv show. Sure, there are major deviations-- but there's also enough similarities to see the growth of characters.

:lecture:lecture:lecture:exactly:

I don't get the ones that pop in here and hate on the show because it doesn't follow the comic 100%. I think that in a lot of ways, the show improves upon the comic and at the same time, keeps things fresh and entertaining for those of us who've collected the books over the years.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

God I hate Lori, how is she going to lay the seed to kill Shane a few episodes before and then get all righteous on Rick? I thought that knowing what happens with her and Judith would be sad on TV but at this point I'm almost cheering for it. I'm glad to see Michonne but wondering how it'll work out with Carol since there isn't a Tyreese although I guess they could add him as they get to the prison.

I will say this with Kirkman announcing the 8 page Michonne backstory in Playboy this month it was lock she'd show up.

Do people still do that? How many comic book adaptations do we need to go through before people understand film/tv and comics are two different mediums.

My problem with it is the terrible writing. All the things you guys hate about Lori is due to poor writing, not intentional character flaws.
