Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Zombies all over...lets have sex!!!
Really?????

backdoor action to be exact :lecture Keeps her eyes foward in case of a zombie attack.

But anyways, there was some really crummy editing, one minute the black guy (with busted ribs) was down stairs watching the chopping, but when they run up stairs he's no where to be seen...for he's already on the roof top in the same sitting position post beat down...teleportation?

I want to read these spoilers, but I dont want to read comic spoilers.....it becomes very hard to discuss this show. :(

excellent episode last night! unfortunately i'm the only one at home enjoying this series. it's not my wife's favorite genre and my daughter is too young to watch it. btw, i had to divert my daughter's attention when she heard me loudly laughing at the gore scene. she came by asking what was so funny. lol :D

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I don't believe in 'zombie rules', but a friend of mine was a bit miffed that apparently The Walking Dead (tv series) broke a bunch of them. Today he couldn't help but highlighting them to me.

1. They can run
2. They can apparently wield blunt weapons in the form of rocks, bricks, etc etc, and...
3. They can climb chain-link fences. (except that cop zombie in the 1st ep, but I guess he didn't read the screenplay). Which means....
4. They are capable of rudimentary problem solving.
5. They've retained the ability of olfaction (smell).

I wasn't bothered by most of that. To me it just seemed like the zombies of TWD are amalgams of recent modern zombie types from other popular movies.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

They weren't really...running. More like, staggering fast...:lol

I like the idea that they're getting smarter. They can solve problems. It makes them more threatening. And the Romero movies did the same thing, except over time.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

The zombies in the original Night of the Living Dead, which started it all, used weapons.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Sadly, I think Romero took that concept too far in Land of The Dead.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Ep 2 made some really unnecessary additions, which was a bit of a letdown for me as ep 1 was so perfect. They didnt need to add characters as there is a crapload to start and Andrea struck me as 10 years too old in the show...seems younger in the comic

I really hope they dont drag the Shane storyline one - hope its resolved by end of the 1st 6 episodes

It was a fun show, but I guess the addition of all those new characters struck me as really odd...I assume they'll be zombie fodder before too long, but still.

Ep 1 I give an A
EP 2 a B-

Nothing's wrong with more characters. As long as they're engaging and interesting, bring them on.

I'll have to sleep on it as to why Ep 2 bugged me so much. I assume it was due to how dead one accurate EP 1 was to the source material - and the fact that the additions were minor, but very interesting - guess it just caught me offguard how different Ep 2 was from the source material.....

And Andrea being late 30s really bugs...guess they wanted to somewhat avoid any heat from the storyline in the comic, cause it seems like she is early 20s
Anyways, looking forward to Ep 3
