It's a ****ing great idea.

I want to see my blood and Zombie goo in color. :lol

Only old episodes. They're not airing the new ones in black and white. Because the comic is black and white. It's a fan service. Nothing more.

Actually maybe they should release one of the comics in color because of the show :lol
Have they done that already? the comic in color?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

I was about to make another "Celtic P. hates change" crack, but, apparently, you aren't the only one.:lol

B&W comics? Cheap bastids! B&W is so last century! ;)

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Black and White is one of the coolest formats to use. It creates such a different mood, and aesthetic. The Mist in B&W is so much better, and that's a fact. Even God agrees.

If that is true how come nothing is black and white anymore?

it works for Sin City and things like that, but color is better. Not saying I hate black and white but I prefer color. It is the way we see the world.

why did they do the walking dead comics in black and white? as a nod to night of the living dead?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Shindler's List works perfectly in B&W. Making that film in color would've been a mistake. It created such a different tone that the film would not have had in color. It set you right into the period.

Neither is better. Both work for whatever the film is supposed to be.

And look it up. I don't know.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Black and white is cool when it's actually shot and intended to be in black and white. Just de-saturating the existing show doesn't interest me in the slightest.

I agree. I'm interested, but I agree.

Casino Royale reminded me how interested of a format Black and White is. That scene shot in color would not be as interesting or stylish.

Definitely. Because when filming in B&W, the actual lighting in films is crucial, since it can make or break a scene/movie. Watching master directors of the B&W era(s?), it's amazing how well they worked with lights and shadows. Sure, they still do, but certainly not to the same extent.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

I'm really interested in using it sometime. Because, like you said, it's just so different from anything else currently out there. By using that kind of lighting, you can create a mood color just never could.

Of course, I don't have any way of actually shooting in black and white, but I can compensate.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

We didn't have color TV until I was about 9 (1969). I find that people who grew up with B&W detest it. Why deprive yourself of colors?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

WTH for? The show is fine. AMC you can "boost" my ass.

You misread that. They're airing B&W reruns of previous seasons to boost AMC's Thursday night viewing audience and hopefully bring them in to watch the gay reality shows happening afterwards (same thing they tried with that stupid Cowboy show). It has nothing to do with the regular TWD which will continue airing in full color on Sunday nights.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Personally, I am holding out for the sepia-toned re-runs. I can't wait to see what new and insightful meanings I will gain from viewing it. :lecture

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Funny. Walking Dead fans don't know where the show came from. :lol Some fans...eh?
