Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

My The Walking Dead Hardcovers arrived yesterday. I picked up #1-5 from Ebay for $70 dlvd.:hi5::yess:

I will start reading the day after the 6th episode.

I asked for the hardcovers for Christmas, so hopefully I will start reading them during the holidays. :hi5:

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I know I need to think about this show separate from the comic but I am not sure I am digging the direction they are going. I will have to see how it plays out in the end I guess.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Anyone notice the Sunshine/Kick-Ass music? LOL....what was up with that?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Is there a direction yet?:rotfl

Another great episode. It looks like there is going to be a divide in the group between Rick and Shane. They keep butting heads and disagreeing so it is only a matter of time before Shane wants to lead. Hopefully, he doesn't take Daryl with him (I am really digging his character). I am not expecting complete answers from the CDC guy, but hopefully we get a little more info on the disease and it's origins.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I'm really sorry to see the CDC guy - I really don't want answers. That's not necessary to the story, and it just bogs things down.

Tonight's episode was the weakest so far. Way too drawn out around Amy and Jim. With so few episodes in this first season, I was hoping to see a bit more story development. As far as I'm concerned, we could have gotten all that in 15 minutes - it didn't require an hour.

I did like the scene in the woods though - nice set up for potential issues with Shane and Rick, and at least one person that now knows Shane might not be entirely stable.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Holy crap... Michael, you hit the nail on the head! EXACTLY how I felt. Definitely the weakest episode of the series.

But now that they've arrived at CDC, I dunno. I enjoyed the lonelier vibe of the first few episodes more, and I hope the show doesn't rush into a more sci-fi action stage.
Episode 1 was especially good; it drew out quite a lot of emotion. This newest one... not so much. I know they were trying to go for that again, but they dragged it out too long so in the end, I didn't feel much besides wanting them to get on with it.

I kinda wish I had not started reading the comics, 'cause I'm disappointed that they are not taking it the show in that direction. But I am enjoying the show nonetheless.

I enjoyed tonights show. I'm eager to see where they go with the CDC stuff and think it will play quite awesomely.

I'm with you it felt like a lot of nothing packed into an hour. The last episode had so much content and the story was driven forward so much...this one was just so slow and awkward. It seems like they could have fit the entire episode into the first half hour, it was a bit slow to start...too much dwelling on Amy and Jim.

This was by far the weakest one yet, come to think of it the only weak episode yet. Hopefully the finale is better.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I actually really liked the episode, despite not much going on in it. I like that they took some time with those characters, and I like the CDC thing. It's nice having new stuff to throw me, being a reader of the comic. It is great seeing something fresh that i'm not expecting!

And yeah, the usage of John Murphy's Sunshine Adagio in D Minor was beautiful. It's one of my favorite pieces. I just asked Bear if it was his decision to use it, or if it was Frank's on his blog. Loved it though. Perfect for them leaving the camp.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

This is not the direction they should be heading towards. The second I saw the CDC scientist guy I sighed. I'm afraid they'll attempt to explain the zombie outbreak. It doesn't matter. The cause is not important and usually it's just trite.

Come on, the path of the comic was great. Why couldn't they just follow it?
