Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Once again- I'm with you, Ween.
Love the show and very glad I haven't read the comics and have nothing to compare it to. Just enjoying the ride...

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I don't want to read the comics now. I think I am just going to enjoy the ride the tv show take us on.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I got the vibe Mr. CDC is going to pull a shenanigan on the blonde.
As in infect her with the virus so he can replace the lost brain samples from the lab mishap.
Thats what the previews hinted at to me so dont scream spoilers.
France were the ones to hold out the longest huh? :rolleyes:Yeah, right.
They wouldve been the first to try to surrender to the zombies. Maybe its the bad Parisian hygiene that saved them, the zombies thought they already smelled dead.:sick:explode:
I kid the French, they actually helped us out waaaaaaay back in the revolution.

My take on Andrea based on scenes from next week is that she isn't infected, but pregnant. They show her throwing up (morning sickness?) but she says she has no fever. It could be possible if the zombie epidemic is 5-6 weeks old (based on Rick's coma). I guessed right last week when I said she would be the one to put Zombie Amy down. Let's see if I can go two for two.

Yeah that fits as well, which means:
Zombie baby!! It eats its way out of the womb!!
:horror

...or not.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I thought it was another thoroughly gripping episode. Having not read the comics I have no particular feelings on where the show should or shouldn't go, I'm just happy to go along with it to be honest.

I agree with whoever said it was cool to see a zombies first awakening. That was an emotional and yet very tense scene, especially the way they started with her breathing again, then the arm twitching and so on. It added to the nervousness of the whole thing for the viewer while not just going for the obvious scare like every film has done.

I'm glad I didn't read the comics either. I like the show so far. It disturbs me. I guess that's the way it should be. :lol

I never even heard of the comic before this show started so I am glad I never read them either.

Yeah that part was kind of intense but sad at the same time. I felt bad for Jim, he showed alot of class near his transformation. I'm sure we'll see him again in the next episode, zombified. :exactly: I'm also sure we'll see Merle zombified too. The finale should be DAMN good.

One more episode left :(

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I liked the episode. I don't mind the slow pace and focusing on the characters. I'm surprised the virus takes that long to "activate" once the person has been bitten and killed.

It almost felt like the season should have ended there, though, with the doors opening.

I'm very curious as to how they're going to leave things, especially because we'll have to wait practically a full year til next season!

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I personally think someone should've walked away from Jim under that tree, they turned around and shot him. He was already suffering and they knew he'd become an undead. I'm sure the redneck would've done it.

Sam!!!! Nice to see you again! :wave

I wish you were with me while I'm watching this show. You could cuddle me while I'd be skeered! :panic:

Yea but that isn't what he wanted. He wanted to be undead because he thinks he will be with his family then, since they are also undead.

I was thinking that he ended up killing, for lack of a better word, his family after they became undead.

I don't think so. He said he ran and got away because the zombies were too busy eating his family. In last night's episode he did say he wanted to be with his family and I assumed (yeah I know what they say when you assume something) it meant he knew he would become a zombie and go be with his family. At this point, one more zombie in the world isn't going to make a whole lot of difference.

Although I am sure CDC guy would have loved to get his hands on Jim to study him. I wonder if that will come up in next week's ep?

I could see that being a possibility but I could also see the group not allowing him to be a science experiment. I have a feeling we won't see Jim anymore.

I agree. The group wouldn't go against Jim's wishes at this point and there really isn't a point in bringing back the actor just to play Zombie Jim, so I think we have seen the last of him too. Besides if they brought him back, it would just cheapen the last scene the viewers have of Jim.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I was hoping the sister would've gotten eaten for being so stupid. The scene was good, but Zombie rule number 1 is....IF YER INFECTED, SHOOT THAT MOFO IN THE HEAD. DOESNT MATTER IF IT'S YOUR WIFE, MOTHER, SISTER, BROTHER...THEY DIE NOW! :lol

IF Merle is a zombie.

Oh I think it was perfect how it was handled. I think in a real world scenario it would be much harder to kill a loved one in the same situation then the false bravado posted on an internet forum.

Yea, and it seemed apparent that they knew how she'd wake up - that they had to take care of it, but not like she was going to leap to her feet and start ripping them up.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I am really starting to think the show is falling into "The Losers" territory. Both were amazing comics, written almost like story boards for a screen play, and yet for some reason both movie / TV show veered pretty far off the orignal script. In the end, the comics are better. Lets hope Walking Dead can pick it up.

I don't see how its not picking it up. seems to me they are flowing to the major plot points of the book, but the journey is different. After the last episode, i was actually really surprised and excited that i don't know whats going on. If it was shot for shot like the book, I'd have about 6 seasons to sit through of stuff i already knew if I stopped reading the book now. The way I see it, if you didn't read the book, its really entertaining. If you did read it, then its a great re-interpretation and you just get that much more material.

I agree...plus she had all that guilt about not being there for her sister and wanted to tell her that and was waiting for her to turn so she could "talk" to her.
