Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I'm finding all the "glad I didn't read the comic" talk in here kind of sad. Why is it ok to deprive yourself of one of the best written comics out there right now (the one that this show you like so much is based off of by the way) because you like the show so much?

When you see a movie you liked a lot and find out it's based off a book do you say "screw it, I'm not reading the book because I like the movie?" Seems crazy to me especially if everyone who has read it says it's amazing.

You just need to ignore the "I wish they did this from the comic" talk and just read it. It's different enough that it's not going to spoil the show. I too think the comic is better than the show but that doesn't mean I don't like the show; hell, I love this show.

Do yourself a favor and read the comic, you'll love it.

:goodpost::exactly:

I agree with this 100%. I wouldn't be so excited about watching this show, if I didn't read the comics first. I love the characters and that comes from me reading the masterfully crafted comic series, so it's a real treat for me to see what happens differently to the same characters in the tv series.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I just seen on G4's attack of the show, that they said they fired the writers and are looking to get freelance writers for the next season. Not sure if I heard it correctly so someone please tell me I heard it wrong...

Not sure I'm thrilled with the idea and the overall product could lack vision and continuity but I guess we'll see either way. :dunno

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I am guessing that we won't see Morales or his family again, just like I doubt we will see zombie Jim either. From a production standpoint, they seem to be paring down the cast for season 2 with Rick, Lori, Carl, Shane, Andrea, Glen and Dale as the main characters and hopefully Daryl gets added as a main character too. It also lets them bring in more new characters for season 2.

Yeah Im kind of curious where the series is heading now. With all new writers and chances of walk on free lance writers, I hope it doesnt affect the show to bad.

To those who don't see this I say: "good day sir!" :lecture

*slams door*

To me, she could have said her goodbyes after she put a bullet into her head, for it would have made no difference when it comes to comprehension of those words to her sister.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Except that Amy would not have been conscious after the bullet went through her brain. She was still conscious as a zombie. By your reasoning, she could have just written her sister's name on a rock and said goodbye to the rock. At that point, why even bother?

As for the comic, I plan on getting back to it after this season is over. I can't wait a year for more.

I like the way that scene played out... it was perfect.

:goodpost::clap:clap

After watching the first episode I went and tore through the 78 issues that were out there of the comic-- great stuff and it definitely did not tarnish or ruin my experience with the next five episodes. I view them as two separate journeys that just happen to have some similar character-types. Look at JJ's new Star Trek, you can't enjoy that incarnation if you were a fan of the original series/movies?

If you like the show search out the comic. You won't be disappointed.

I, for one, don't ever read comics and if I was to read it, it would be AFTER the series is through. That's how I usually do it with movies as well, unless I've read the book first and THEN they make a movie several years later.

Yeah, but she wasn't Amy at that point.

AMC is running a marathon this Sunday Dec 5th. Starts at 4:30 PM EST and runs up to the season finale at 10PM.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Sad that there is only one more episode left for this season. :monkey2

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

what an outstanding tv show... I am so impressed with every episode.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

This show lost me after the second episode. Something about the character development or writing, or maybe acting just really started doing a 180 for me. Have you noticed that the best characters are the ones that you know less about. Glenn or T-dog for example.

I hated the sisters and it was pulling teeth watching the whole 5th episode. I don't much like the sheriffs wife, his right hand man, that skinny dying guy on the tree, the liberal old man, or the beaten down scaredy wife. I appreciate the extent of the gloom and doom of the world they are living in but they are still just really annoying characters with little likability for me. I feel more emotion for glenn when hes crying that we bury our dead for about 10 seconds then I do for the blond cradling the other dead blond for 20 minutes. The first two episodes were so incredible, and this one just spent so much time on what I think was worthless. All and all I feel like I'm going to get through this last episode and probably call it quits for this show.

Agreed on all counts.
